My motor is set WAAAAY far back, within 1/8 inch of the firewall that was already hammered as far back as possible, so weight transfer is unbelievable, plus the tranny is much longer and heavier so that also sets more weight to the rear, it will still spin but it isnt as easy as one would think, I have custom traction bars (that I sell for 1st gen 2wd Tacomas) and 4 x 4 leaf pack with one removed for a good squat on takeoff that can be adjusted by an overload airbag system I have controlled by an on board compressor.

Yes turbos are in my future....I'm not scared.;)

    Turbo

Although, they tend to cause more wear and tear. The heat etc....
    Turbos need more power management.
Turbos cause more shock load on tranny
Back pressure issues if not tuned properly...
    Always more BHP.
Always more efficient. Newer S/Cs are gaining effeciency, but will never exceed effeciency of a turbo.

S/C pulls on the front half of your engine however....
    Faster reaction

It all depends on how you drive.... What you need it for....

on our 42k BHP diesel, we have turbos. But we also have engineers to fix everything the turbos break... Lol

Turbos need more power management. Boost is boost, so does a Supercharger
Turbos cause more shock load on tranny they shouldnt, turbos generally "kick in" slightly slower than most S/Cs
Back pressure issues if not tuned properly... You can mismatch anything..
Always more BHP. Generally speaking thats true
Always more efficient. Newer S/Cs are gaining effeciency, but will never exceed effeciency of a turbo. There are incredibly efficient supercharger out there, it really helps now that they use a bypass valve to help it out..

S/C pulls on the front half of your engine however.... Well it sort of uses the entire engine since it is crank driven
Faster reaction It can unless its a Centri blower

It all depends on how you drive.... What you need it for....

    Quoted from Speed-Freek.

    To coincide with Speed-Freek, a dynograph with from a TRD S/C @ ~9 psi on E85.

Notice specifically the instant torque. Non progressive, which also means instant shock load. Graph from this link: http://www.xr-underground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32072

Now, here is a graph of my turbo's torque comes in.

    IMAG1086_68ddd148849a27105969090efae1a324cc38644e.jpg

    IMAG1084_9bc4eff62403fdee5e8b0dfdcfa2372eadf2c6a3.jpg

As you can tell, it is much more progressive than a roots style s/c, and thus less instant shock on components.

    I agree with Speed-Freek.

Pretty much yes, the guy that owns it says he never runs it, but the turbos go into a plate of some sort under the top hat.

So it was done right but damn seems way to absurd to be ran more then once.

They arent, look more closely...your looking at the turbo INTAKE not the charge pipe...lot of stuff going on there, just a bit over the top!

Would be fun trying to diagnose a problem on that thing gawd!

I seriously don't know why I wrote that about shock load. That's the one of the benefits of a turbo. I think I wrote turbo where I meant to write s/c and vice versa. I had just got done done writing a compare and contrast research paper the subject when I saw this thread. Got a little excited I guess...
