    Yeah.
No, I think he means go the other way, slow it down a bit. If it rebounds fast, it is just making a normal sound. Might be bushings, though.

As far as the front brake squeaking, not sure what brakes you have. With discs, if the rotor is true and clean, adjusting the caliper usually works for me. As they bed in, they need some minor tweaks.

Anyone got advice on a reasonably priced roof rack for my bike? Maybe even some used advice? Sick of finagling it in the back of my camper. I have OEM roof racks also.

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
Haha you mean my Butcher? All the APP Santa Cruz bikes(Heck/Butch/Bullit/Nickel) look the same honestly lol. That will be my "beater" so anyone that wants to ride who doesn't have a bike can throw that thing around. Those frames are damn near indestructible so it'll be the perfect beat around bike. The Hammerschmidt should be done tomorrow on it...finally!! My LBS has been wicked busy I guess.

The LTc will be my next weight weenie carbon build, but pure XC. I have a feeling I'll be my next favorite bike lol.

I can't wait to build my dad's Heckler more than anything!

Right? I should be given stock options haha. Can't pass up these barn burner sales though! Especially when I(well, we---me and my cousin Jay) have parts laying around to build up bikes quickly lol.

You should check out my Küat rack, I installed the 2 bike add on today. 4 bikes no problem! Then I can stuff all the single crown bikes in the bed using the shuttle pad. :D

Ohh i thought you had a heckler haha. yeah they do look a lot alike. The butcher is going to be a sick bike with the hammerschmidt on it. The LTc will be sick too.

Man seeing that sale im so tempted to sell my EX8 and build up a heckler or butcher...the only thing that keeps me from doing that is the geometry of the heckler. Is it just me or does the HA seem really steep for an AM bike. I think on the santa cruz site its at 69* i think.

on a side note i think i saw you post your nomad with the fox 40 on mtbr the other day in the all-mountain thread, it looked like they were giving you some shit for it haha

    Thanks man!

If it came down to Heckler vs Butcher, I'd definitely take the Butcher---based on the head tube size alone. Being that the Heck is so steep, I'd feel a little scared to bomb down anything questionable with that straight 1⅛ head tube & steep angle. I think the Heckler is more of a beginner's XC bike. I had a 2011 Heckler for a couple months but used it mainly for light XC. I wish I would've never sold it to give to my pops but he definitely needs a SMALL and not a medium frame(my size).

At least in the Butcher the tapered tube adds a bit of strength....I would have no problem throwing a 180mm fork on it! The Butcher is going for dirt cheap, I say go for it!! If you can swing it, the Blur LTC/TRC would be the best mix of light weight climbing and agile descending, with the LTC being the better descender and the TRC being the better handler(at the expense of a lower bb height).

Maybe that was another guy you saw on MTBR lol. I haven't posted anything on that forum but I do creep the hell our of threads lol. Everyone who's taken my Nomad for a spin have been blown away at how well the 40 works on it.....and weighing in at 32.xx lbs WITH a dual crown its lighter than my Butcher!! Lmao!

To be honest, I almost have no need for a pure DH bike the way I have my Nomad set up, and with the recent addition of the Push Industries Nomad rear upper link connected to my DHX RC4 it's completely changed the way the rear end acts on descents. It's more of a "V10 Jr" now that can still climb! :D Most of the guys who hate on this set up have never tried it. Everytime I walk into my LBS(Cambria Bike Outfitters), they always ask if I brought it with me so one of them can ride it around their lot lol.

yeah thats what i was thinking about the heckler it just seems odd to me that they would make a 150mm frame designed with such a steep HA. I think if i do decide to sell my ex8 and get a frame it would probably be a butcher. I would love a blur ltc but that would be a little out of my budget haha. ill probably post it up on pinkbike and CL and see if anyone bites haha.

Thats weird though that you havent posted on there in a while. it must have been someone else posting your bike because it was the same exact picture you posted on here haha.

I bet the nomad does handle great with the 40 haha. that bike just seems like a do it all bike. i dont think it would throw off the geo too much, i havent checked but ive read 40s have about the same axle to crown length as a 180mm fork which isnt too bad.

You piqued my curiosity, so I did a search for that thread on mtbr and found it hahaha. They weren't bad. The dude must've swiped those pics off my Pinkbike lol. I mean, the only other way is if he crept onto this thread specifically.

I had a Fox 36 180 tapered fork originally on the Nomad, and the axle:crown was damn near the same as my 40.

I'm running a direct mount stem on the 40 so it definitely feels lower when I'm stretched over it pedalling hard. Helpful on the climbs!

What size frame do you ride? Lol who knows, maybe I'll think about parting ways with my Butch sometime.

yeah thats what i figured when you said you hadnt been on there for a while.

yeah so im sure the way its set up it would be like a freeride bike if SC made one haha

id probably be a large but idk, i was looking at the geometry comparing the Top Tube, Standover and Seat tube lengths and the XL for the nickel and butcher were really close to my Large EX 8 haha

Santa Cruz frames all run small lol. They are one of the few companies that make XL frames lol. If you're a large on your EX 8, I'd probably throw you on an XL for an SC frame.

I'm a sm/med on most other bike company frames but found that I'm a solid medium on SC sizing lol.

Here's a smoking local Craigslist deal on an XL heck:
