Turns out the guy my boss is hiring to be an assistant PM is fucking nutz. I know him and so does 1/2 of the glass industry locally. There is NO way in hell I'm working with this tool. The guy is literally bat shit crazy. He only lasted 2 months at his last job before they threw him out on his ass.

    This should be fun.

The boss called him in today to introduce him. Right after he left I told my boss and then had a salesman from a major supplier call my boss and tell him some stories.

My boss never called even one of the references on the dudes resume let alone ask any of the salesmen about him :goingcrazy:

oh and he is gay :( or so I was told...well I was told he is a crazy F a g

    fuck you hippy

What kind of windows? I need specifics and I have a program I can run them through. Double pane triple pane??

I also only deal with 1/4" thick glass for my commercial stuff and thats what the program is loaded with.

My typical units are 1" thick with 1/4" clear tempered - 1/2" spacer - 1/4" Sungate 500. Thats an average performing unit for typical commercial buildings. That has a VT of 74%.

    What VT do you need?

Finally a good question I know stuff about

That sucks, but document everything he does so when the shit hits the fan with spec problems, you can help hang him from...a fan blade, or something.

And don't tell Scott, or he'll be jealous and suspicious and just make things harder for you, no pun intended.

Double pane thermo units , not sure on glass thickness but most spacer here is 5/8" I believe

Hoping to get better than 75% VT

I can get 75% VT , Low E , argon gas filled here no problem

5/8" spacer because they are using 3/16" glass I bet. Is the unit 1" thick overall?

Argon is a waste of money IMO. 99% of the time I take the money from the argon and use it for better glass so the customer gets the best stuff possible.

Do you have any other specifications you need to meet?

    UV Trans?
    Solar trans?
    Winter U factor?
    Solar heat gain coeff?
    Light to solar gain?

What glass are you using that has 75%? I'm very curious. I just ran some glass and 1/4" low iron (super clear) over 1/4" PPG Solarban 60 on low iron only has 74% VT. Thats about as clear and expensive as you can get. The low iron glass is expensive.

If you want to play around here is a link to a similar program http://glasselect.oldcastlebe.com/

Boyd , I'll have a look for the glass specs

Low E glass is now a residential code requirement since 2007

As it should be. All of my new windows are low-E with exception to my Pella sliding door in my master bedroom. It has shades between the glass so the low-e would scratch off. That's no biggie anyway since the window never see's the sun anyway due to my soffit.

    Awesome looking dog John.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
This is one of Jay Leno's cars. I've been fortunate enough to see it run on the freeway. I was on my cruiser, and see this thing coming up behind me. As it passes, I see it's Leno, gave him a nod and he returned it. That car is insane. Those rear wheels are super tall. I think it has a WWII tank engine in it. Never heard anything like it.

You actually got to experience it up close? Awesome.

It's called the Blastolene Special. M47 Patton Tank V12 engine.
