It is believed that he is a Spaniel/Australian Shepherd mix. According to his foster, he is super laid back and friendly. Hopefully a good friend for Bella.

Well maybe not much of an issue in his case up in Siberia I guess, but there's much better coatings to help keep the heat out better.

Pretty sure they want to let heat in and keep it in. The U values for that glass are great.

Well since we're talking about AGC already, TI-AC36 for example is even better. Not as much visible light, but you've got to compromise somewhere.

Keeping heat in is more of the issue here than keeping it out for 2 months

FWIW , my house with the Comfort E2 glass is awesome , warm in winter , cool in summer

Well when I said keep heat out I was just thinking of down here. Technically the low-e should work either way, wherever the higher heat is. It just prevents heat transmission.

Kinda irrelevant , but if you are in an extreme environment you could go triple pane , but that wasn't my question

If you need more then 75% from what I looked up your SOL. Ill e-mail my salesman tomorrow and see what he has to say. He's been slinging glass longer then I have been alive.

yea.... you lost me buddy :D

Is this for you? Is VT more important then anything else? High end client wanting to burn money for a 'better' view? Pretty sure 3/16" low iron over 3/16" low iron with a minimal low-e coating is going to be your best bet for VT. Also going to be one of the most expensive units around.

I'm not a specialist in exterior glazing although I do dabble in it. My expertise is in interior products (showers/mirrors/glass doors/art glass/etc). 99% of the time I do exterior work it's for the gov and the glass is hard spec'd. I only run numbers for exterior glass when I'm bidding private jobs and looking for the cheapest glass that performs to the spec'd data.

The only reason I'm stuck with the PHL airport job is due to all the art glass (48,000 sqft of glass coming from Germany painted by hand). The exterior curtain wall is kicking my ass being slopped 15*, quake rated, and loaded with steel. That stuff is all new to me.

    Ok Ill ask tom.

welp...right now the best I can find is:

    OB: 1/4" PPG Solarban® 60 on Starphire® Low-E #2
    AS: 1/2 inch (Air Fill)
    IB: 1/4" PPG Starphire®

    74% VT

Pretty sure that's about as good as it gets, but remember this glass is 1/8" thicker then you would buy so in 3/16" I'm sure the VT would be higher.

I know natural gas is used as the heat source thus the stupid energy surcharge to offset changing costs was introduced 9 years ago by flat glass producers.

No clue about what elements are actually used. Now I need to go look :D
