What happened to actual discussion ?

Did you know there was a screening at the Tall Grass Film festival and the stars of the show were there? I don't remember what my excuse was for not going but I wish I had gone now that I have seen it.

 

Definitely a great movie. Bobcat Goldthwait doing what he does, and doing it well. Movie definitely has a strong message. Then again, like what has already been stated, I don't think it's gonna be able to get through the disgustingly thick heads of the people of my generation.

 

I know! Heard that on TnT for the entire week beforehand. I'm still kicking myself for not going either..

I wanted to beat the shit out of his daughter in the movie. I will "regulate" my kids so into autism if they ever complain about something that is given to them that is meant to be a thoughtful gift.

 

Already bringing the hammer down on my 5 year old a bit more than normal.

 

I've honestly tried sitting down and watching it with a friends a couple different times, and they usually get bored because they do not understand it. Or it's not action packed, or inundated with cock, ass, or fart jokes. If this country keeps going the way it has been, I'm moving to either Australia or the UK. Generation X definitely has the potential to be the demise of this country.

Atleast you're trying... most people try to be the child's friend rather than the parent. My step-sister is an "unschooler", which absolutely pisses me off. Unschooling is where you try to teach your child through life lessons as opposed through a planned out curriculum. Her daughter is 12 years old now, has never seen the inside of a classroom, and LITERALLY can barely write her own name... it's 3 unique letters. "HANNAH"

There is no room for actual conversation here. I like TW for truckporn, nothing more, nothing less. The finger pointing, trolling, lack of basic grammatical ability, and general douchebaggery exhibited by 2/3 of the members of this site makes reading "actual discussions" unbearable.

Good post any very true. What is the need to (other than those that have a job) get up, get dressed, and make oneself look presentable to make face to face contact with other people?!
Myspace, FB, and texting have pretty much killed the art of conversation of how it used to be. I saw one of those "some E card" pictures the other day and it said "I'm inviting my friends over so we can all look at our phones".

a thread about conversation and 99% of the posts are garbage, one liners... typical.

 

Conversations don't need to be long diatribes, one line can provoke thoughts, questions and discussions as long as it isn't a 'is not' comment.

I tend to understand the demenor of the poster and not get insulted at some of the comments, however there are times when the exclusivity of some members towards newer members gets me mad. People come here to get help, dont know about the search feature or ask a question that has been asked before, or want to modify in an unsafe way because they dont know or care. Now the right thing to do is ;
1)discuss with them the proper proceedure or
2)just post a link to the thread that answers thier question.
The problem with #2 is the site will have no new thought, just the regurgitation of past threads.
The problem with #1 is the members get tired of the same question, over and over again and start to get 'grumpy'.
To get past this, the site starts other threads to put some diversity into the questions and thoughts and this becomes a fun place to spend time, talking and BSing with fellow members from around the world(okay, North America).
So lighten up and get back to the upgrades, boobs and bacon (non-Canadian bacon).

I was referring to everyone commenting stuff in here about "atrac, obama, street racing". yea, its a little funny and I know its all in good fun but it doenst really add any depth to the conversation.
