I have nice warm memories as a child of these.

I remember lighting that baby up with a nice red glow. Sitting in the car waiting to go to church and I must have been thinking if I just lick my finger before I touch it I should be fine? Good memories.

And yes it did hurt like a mo fo.

My '12 doesn't have a lighter or ashtray. There is an option for an "ashtray kit" listed on Toyota's website as an accessory. Doesn't have anything listed for a lighter though.

Cripes. I did the same thing (minus licking my finger). I never told a soul, namely my parents, because I thought I might end up in remedial classes for that stupidity.:p

OP, I use one of those smokeless ashtrays. I have NINE cupholders in a two passenger vehicle. Perhaps a bit overboard, eh?

I replaced the lighter with a second covered outlet ... this was my '06 but I did the same in my '10 ...

You have to ask for an ashtray, they fit in one of the cup holders. Another member on here gave me one to keep change in.

Sorry Babytruck for the slight jack,
but Jerez are those stock pedals on the '12?...if not, where did you get them?

back to topic sort of...it amazes me that most smokers don't think
flicking their butt(s) out the window or wherever is littering...
    and stupid wrt wildfires etc...
I wish there were more fines for that crap.

Very cool...was this straightforward? If it is an easy mod, I'd like to try this.
