Help, front Bilstein 5100 install

I already have my AAL and rear 5100's on my truck because i installed them myself today. However, i need a shop to install my front 5100's and OME 884 coils, plus do an alignment. Every shop ive called so far says they wont install them because i didnt purchase the shocks through them. Does anyone know of a shop that is reasonably priced and will install my front shocks and coils plus do an alignment? Btw im located in Charlotte, NC. Thanks

 

Did you install the rear shocks? I just did all four on mine on Monday. I was very hesitant doing the front shocks but, I decided to do it, and I will tell you that its really not that hard. I did it outside in the driveway with basic hand tools. I bought some 6 ton jackstands and a HD spring compressor from Harbor Frieght Tools. It took me about 5 hours to do all four shocks. I decided to disconnect the lower control arm from the steering spindle the shock just slide out the bottom. I'd say if your capable of doing the rear shock, you are probably capable of doing the fronts. Just take your time and be careful when compressing the spring.

 

Some part stores will rent you the spring compressor at least in CA. Like above said it's not that hard and if you search the suspension section here on TW there are write ups on how to do it. The main thing is be safe. I actually use two sets (4) of spring compressors when I do mine just to be on the safe side.

That's the thing, i don't want to mess around with the coils. I'm set on having a shop install the front 5100's and do an alignment. I just need to find someone who will install shocks that i didn't purchase from them without charging an arm and a leg. I also need to find one soon as i don't exactly want to drive around with the rear end sitting so much higher then the front end.

 

Ask the people in the South East forum if they they can recommend a shop in your city or maybe they can help you install them for free...

I have spent some time living in the Charolette area (actually Rock Hill & Ft. Mill) and there are plenty of nice TW members there to help you install it yourself.
