Stupid Neighbors

This could end up being a long story...but its kind of funny

My buddy from college moved into this house a little less than a year ago and i moved in in feb. Its on a dead end street. To our left is a single, middle aged guy who likes to drink and is a super nice guy...to our right is a younger couple (around 25 or 26) who rent the place...across the street from us is 2 houses...the one on the left is a single older lady whos husband died 7 years ago...she's dating a dirty redneck bastard...next door to her is a guy named bob who is all up in everyones business but means well...his 20something year old son lives there as well...

Now then...when i moved in...the redneck was the "go to" guy for yard maint. he cut everyone's grass...since feb. he has stolen tools from the guy next to us and the guy across the street. he does shitty work and demands payment in cash only. He never talked to the guys if there was a female avail and would do your yard regardless of if you wanted him to or not. I found this a bit sketchy and we told him to stop and he claimed we owed him some money. After a couple times of demanding it from us he stopped. I went to the business licensing center of this county (where i have friends working) and found out that he is operating without a license. Their certified letter etc didnt stop him from working...

Then he began returning tools out of the blue about 3 weeks ago...while returning some tools to bob, he got into a verbal confrontation with bob jr on bobs lawn...the woman redneck is seeing gets between them and redneck gets on the phone...they then proceed to yell across the street and curse us out for getting in their business...

about 30 minutes later 2 of my coworkers show up and ask about a fight/noise complaint...turns out they called the cops on us

fast forward to last friday (while i was in NC)

My roommates wife and the girl from next door were sitting on the porch...as we do on a REGULAR basis (4-5 nights a week)

The redneck and his gf call the cops AGAIN for a noise complaint.

We dont know that they called, but we've talked to all the other neighbors within earshot of our house and all of them LOVE the fact that we live there and that we sit on the front porch. They all say they never hear us...even when its more than just myself and the roommates on the porch...

Now to the fun part
The redneck and his gf KNOW im a cop...they KNOW that both my roommates are retired MPs...and they STILL call

I talked to the Capt. of this region this morning and via some outstanding traffic tickets, redneck driving under suspension, and wasting the county's time...the next time a complaint is called in...Dispatch is going to HAVE to get a name/address and an officer is to call me before responding. If they call in another unwarranted complaint, an officer is going to go to the complainant and find out whats going on and "handle" the issue for me

who the FUCK calls the cops...on the cops...seriously

I guess he forgot that i can get any info on him that i want

 

I'm going to call the cops on you for wasting my time.

I thought this was going to end in someone getting tazed.

haha i know that...but in this case we really havent done ANYTHING illegal or even inconsiderate...we go out of our way to be nice to everyone on the street

there are a lot of cops who do use the badge for ill reasons...im not one of them...i hate doing that in fact...id much rather be treated as a normal citizen when im being one...

 

you should go cut all of your neighbor's grass for free.

 

he KNOWS i'm a cop...he's talked to me while i was in uniform when i was getting home one day...asked me how i scored an unmarked car etc

 

actually we dont have a lawnmower...the other neighbors cut ours for us

normally i'd just ignore everything...but with my promotion and everything coming up...i cant afford to have the boss man go thru my file and see various complaint calls going to my house

 

the sad part is that he was super nice at first...then he started stealing other neighbors tools and doing half ass jobs and demanding money for jobs people didnt agree to...oh and then one night he came to our back door around 10pm asking for his money...

he knows what its like to look down the barrel of a 12ga now though

 

he used to...not so much anymore
