"A lock will only stop an honest thief."

The easiest and cheapest way to make your truck a deterent, is to make it less attractive than the one beside you. Don't leave ANYTHING visible from outside the truck. No shopping bags, no loose change, no magazines, NOTHING.

The average, small time thief is going to walk along an entire row of vehicles trying door handles. The first one that opens, is the one he takes.

there is always LO-jack. you can even put a neat little sign up saying parking lot monitored 24 hours by CCTV. or something along those lines. also first rule is if you suspect your vehicle of being tampered with or something stolen, do not touch the vehicle and call the police, you may remove or ruin all the fingerprint evidence.

I had a Jeep stolen once, the police didn't both to finger print, I even had the lock that was pried out and laying on the ground. When the Jeep was recovered they didn't fingerprint either...

I have a trigger transformer, used to fire the high voltage laser, hook that fucker to the door handle, and they will still be laying there when you back to your truck.

When I had my '69 charger and was going to college in Newark NJ I has installed a cutoff switch that basically grounded out the starter. I hid the switch under the carpet of the console and the car would not start without it being thrown.

Curious - I just bought a bed extender from a person that has their 2011 Taco stolen while at work. I thought that the trucks were basically 'immobilized' unless you had the ignition key? What is the blinking light on the dash good for? Show?

Not sure the pricepoint but I like the RFID / Magnetic keytag. Only think is it's more electronics to possibly go bad. My old school Radio Shack SPST was < $3 ;-)
