Wow.. Did you look for shipping options when ordering? The cheapest method was definitely not the default selection.

Bummer on the shipping time too.. Website says ships in 48-72 hours. I had my tracking number within 24 hours.

 

Yeah, I did. I sat there thinking that $15 for a sheet of metal is outrageous. All the options were expensive, the $15 was the cheapest The only reason I justified it was that because ebay was still more expensive than this site. If I had known it would take me a month to get it I would have gone with a different place.

I'm going to order a bumper this morning.. but the license plate flip-up thing confuses me. I don't haul trailers but I might get a bike rack that fits in the trailer hitch. It seems to me that the local police might not appreciate not seeing my license plate? Does anyone agree? thoughts?

Your license plate will be at an angle but still visible. I've used the hitch on mine quite a bit this summer with no hassles (1000+ miles with various trailers and recently a "t" style bed extender (with tailgate down) to haul lumber several hundred miles).

A quick search of state vehicle code might give you a better idea - but I think only a real hard-ass is going to give you crap about a hinged license plate.

 

Quick question Does the bumper come shipped on a pallet?

 

Mine came wrapped in plastic wrap and strapped to a pallet. I think the pallet is standard fare when shipped via Fastenal.

 

Mine came just wrapped in plastic but it also came through ups! And expect ever edge on the bumper to be scratched too! Not fucked up but just primer scratched off

 

Well once I get it I can check and if needed..go get a can of primer (altho my friend might have a little left over from his truck )

 

I just gave them a call ..

I guess a few orders came in right as their inventory was depleted, which caused some to go out right away and some to get delayed until their next shipment comes in.

Their supplier is supposed to receive their next shipment on Aug 28th, so they are hoping to ship by that Friday if all goes well. Closer to 3 weeks than 4.

 

I wouldn't bother buying any if ur buddy doesnt have some! Especially since ur doin tha bedliner, that shit sticks like crazy! When I started spraying mine I sprayed too much in one spot and it ran a little so I decided I would just scrape that off and start over, it literally took me an hour to get it off of a 10” spot! I tried a scrape tool, a grinder, sandpaper and a chisle! Lol finally I got it good enough to start spraying again! So unless u just want to I wouldn't worry about repriming it, just hit it with some sandpaper real quick

I was thinking the same thing.

The only time I know I WILL use the receiver is with a Soft-ride bicycle rack. (I hope to get a utility or canoe trailer some day)
