With a set of foam blocks and then open the doors and run the straps through the cab.

Yea that will work as long as those are the right pads and bar length. What are you thinking for the other end of the kayak? Rest on top of tailgate or a rack that goes in the bed or trailer hitch?

hmmmm that looks to be an updated/upgraded version of the LL Bean Manatee I bought many moons ago. Plenty of storage behind the seat and one hell of as cheap price.

Haha, that would be an interesting sight. And I'm sure it's been done before.

I have this, been using it with a blanket/foam pad on the roof but running the straps down to the sliders is a pain and it keeps rubbing on the roof.

Glad to see we have someone new coming! I'm assuming you have your own yak? Ill PM you my cell just in case you get lost or have any issues. Keep an eye on this thread. Ant will most likely be grabbing our permits so we will need a final count no later then next Wednesday.

Ant you think we should make reservations?

BYO food and sodas. Ill have my grill and Dalton usually brings a grill as well so no need for you to bring one.
Any other questions feel free to ask. We have all camped together many times so with time we post less and less about what we are bringing because we all figure we bring the typical set up *coughdaltonez-upcough* :D

Put a deposit on the Pamlico 120. It's at their other location but they said they will transport it here for me and should have it Tuesday. $475 with tax and includes a paddle. I can still back out if I change my mind.

nice. i think you will be happy with that. paddles make a big difference too depending on how much paddling you are doing. a couple ounces lighter means having more power longer. and with pfd's make sure it fits comfortably and you have full range of motion with your arms and it doesnt get in the way of the seat back of the kayak
