 Where are you at right now?

Question- has anyone ran those skinny 255/85's in snow before? It seems like deep sand/snow/mud is the downfall of those tires. I'm just wondering how bad they perform in snow.

They all come with the rails and 4 cleats regardless of the package.

And no damage whatsoever. Was stuck within 2 inches of that tree. Took the tree down and spent another hous to get out. No success with the tow strap, but made it out eventually under my own power once we put some plywood down. Foot deep forest compost sucks!

When I bought the truck a few years ago it didn't have the system in it and didn't think I would use it much at the time. Since then, I have moved 3 times and it has been a pain not having anything to tie things down to. I think the guy who owned it before me had a camper on it or something cause there were 2 holes on each side of the bed near the tailgate where something must have been mounted, not sure why he had to take out the rail system to do whatever he was doing but he did... Oh and mine is not even the SR5 model, its just bare bones base, but even those come with the rail system.

    So here's the full story...

I helped my friend up the street cut a dozen big trees into rounds and wanted to see if I could get my truck up there for the wood. Steep slope and we filled in the back end of their driveway with very loose dirt. Got back there and made it up the hill most of the way but had to give up due to trees in the way. Backing down and making the corner was a problem. For every few feet I backed up (or moved forward after getting into a pickle), I would slide sideways further and further down the hill into two trees. Should have aired down the tires, but said screw it. I was within 2 inches from the tree and my rear fender was already sticking out further than the tree. If I'd had a strap and pulley (and cable), we could have gotten me out. One tow strap, no such luck. It was a dead tree that needed to come down anyway, so got my chain saw from home and felled the tree while sitting on the edge of the bed.

Had to drive back up the hill and choose a different track down to their driveway. The fill dirt at the end of the driveway was the major problem with getting out. Plywood did the trick though.
