    fact remains:

    non believers are going to post in this thread that churches and places of worship should be "taxed". Many not knowing much at all about tax law or property tax assements or exemptions.

    one poster thinks everything including the moon should be taxed. :laugh:

    many who don't believe will use the thread to try to advance their agenda. that's fine, but no one here is going to change anyone's faith...or lack of.

    some complaign that some places of worship are to large or too grand...who cares? do those same folks think many ball parks are too large or cost too much to build? you do know many sports parks/arenas get special property tax exemptions, right? heck...some city governments participate in the cost of building the complexes.

    how about the elderly or handicapped?...should their property tax exemptions be discontinued as well?

    my point is...
    it is not as simple as many would make it. and just because one does not believe, or DOES believe in God...or has or not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior and redeemer...

    has little or nothing to do with property assessment tax law...its exemptions. and has zero to do with the seperation of church & state.

    a 3br-2ba-2car gar, 2000 sq ft HVAC home on a 1/2 acre lot
    (in a recorded subdivision...paved streets...underground utlilties...bla bla bla)

    Where I live , that would probably be assessed at about $450-$500K

    Interesting read...I only skimmed it so far.

    seems the Canadian property tax law agrees with the position of a few in this thread. :D

    that's probably twice what it would be here in Florida...and I can walk to the bay :thumbsup: even our last home that was larger and right acrosss the street from the beach (Gulf of Mexico) was under $2000.00 (including flood)

    of course, here in Florida we have the homestead exemption...and no income taxes. Woot!

    now...if we could just get the feds to drop the cap gains tax...I'd be golden. :D

    (btw, the guy in the WH wants to double the cap gain tax from 15% to 30%...guess who I'm not voting for. L0L)
