    Well, I've owned both - '05 OR and now '08 Sport. The 2nd time around I opted for the Sport simply because of the slightly larger rearend (8.0 vs 8.4), after breaking R&Ps a few times in the '05, both stock and aftermarket 4.56s. It sucks Toyota didn't change this on the Tacoma like they did the new FJC's with e-lockers.

    I just hit 50k miles without any troubles (except the front actuator), even with re-gearing to 4.56s and adding a Detroit locker in the rear with an ARB in the front when the truck was only a few months old. Before that the truck did surprisingly well with just the LSD, but nothing compares to being locked front & rear. As for the other differences, they are pointless IMO.

    ...oh, and yes, we do have snow in CA, and I can drive in it just fine with a Detroit. :)
