I hate these contests. Why? Because there's some not so great photos in the bunch, like the first. It's 'winning' but photographically, it's not the best per se. I like it but it's over flashed and it's something we see every day.

The only comment I have for your buddy is that a wee bit of flash would have lit up your face a lot more and that's a good thing.

I still dig that picture. Wasn't it in the POM on PB?

Your picture is by far the best. I like the colors of the rock, and the fact that that line looks unridable.

nah hasnt been on PB yet that would be quite an acomplishment its next to imposible to get POD VOD POM or VOM on that site let alone even somthing on the home page, i like how vital isnt as clutterd and Facebook like, unlike how PB is, although PB is a better site in general

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
JUST A HEADS UP on the Santa Cruz frame sale: http://www.santacruzbicycles.com/catalog/index.php

Just got off the phone with a person @ SC's sales department to confirm my order.

This is going to sound RETARDED initially but here it goes lol....

They cannot guarantee that you will receive ANY FRAME you have placed your order on.

This is what they told me:

"We just hope our customers understand, this is the first time we have ever offered a VIRTUAL parking lot sale to the public. In the past sales, only our local(to us) customers were able to come by, see the frames we had, and buy them outright then and there. We don't ever sell directly to the public other than these sales, but now adding online access to these sales is a 'whole different animal' for us. We are doing our best to make sure we can fulfill all the orders placed, but there is no guarantee the person who clicked a button 1/2 a second earlier than you may have lucked out. We understand the inconvenience of not knowing 100%, but we will absolutely not finalize(post to your bank account) any sale that cannot be fulfilled."

Basically, they/their customers have no REAL-TIME way of knowing which frames are and aren't accounted for. The sale started on Monday, August 13 and I placed my order a day after the sale so I'm crossing my fingers that that was early enough. The person on the phone said that looking at my order and what she's been shipping out, that it looks like an order that wil be fulfilled no problem but she could not guarantee that 100%(just to cover her ass).

Only updates customers will get are shipping updates. I hope I get that update!!!!

A buddy of mine has that exact bike and loves it. The only issue he has had is with the X-Fusion seat dropper post, needed to have it rebuilt after only a month of use...

interesting. i might lowball this guy and see if he bites. he pretty much turned it into a cruiser with some sort of steerer tube extension, big ass seat and some slicks...kind of weird haha

A friend of mine had this happen. No video but he found the bike on CL after a while then arranged to "buy" it back. Met behind a Staples to do the deal-he went home with his bike and the thief went to his new home in the back of a cop car.

It's a good idea to have pictures of your bike and the serial number. My buddy had filed a police report that included some unique identifying marks too. Made it easier when he called to tell them he'd found it and was meeting the dude to get it back.

Yup always good to keep record of serials and add unique labeling on your bikes. Another added measure is to "hide" a note IN your handlebar and lock it in with the grips. If the perp somehow makes your serials or unique markings unidentifiable, you can then show(the cop) what you have stashed away in your bars. ;)

That too! I choose my handlebars bc they're a little more involved than releasing a clamp and pulling out a seatpost lol.

That is weird, can't see why anyone would want t try and make a cruiser out of that bike. It's a sweet trail killer...
