My question is how big of tires do you want to run? I bet I could get tires at least 2" bigger than stock to fit with no lift..

Yes there was a thread recently that I think it was mentioned that you can run 30s without lift on aftermarket wheels and 31 rubbed a little when turning.

The only lift I know for 5-luggers is the ReadyLift

What's the difference between 5 luggers and non-5 luggers?

the number of lugs on your tire and the more lugs the more support on your axle but the problem is that they dont make a lift kit bigger than 3 in for the five lug 4 cyl accsess cab.

the guy at a tire shop told me that a 235x75x15(30") will be the biggest that will fit my stock 5 lugger. But that readylift kit is like $300+ and you definitely fit a tire that will fill the space. It's what I'm planning to do but not until my "baby" tires wear down. :)

Hammerhead 4x4 on ebay. They didnt advertise the 5 lug but i emaiiled/called and got it. Hammerhead 4x4 is the ebay site for fat bob's garage. I think its just a reboxed readylift without the fancy box

I've been looking for a 5 lugger lift for a 1st gen. Any ideas? Everything I'm finding on the site is for 05+.

Fabtech and Doetsch Tech used to make 3" lift spindles. Not sure if Doetsch Tech still does but I know Fabtech was supposed to have discontinued them. Fabtech used to make a 6" kit too but I never looked into it. Whatever you do don't go with the Daystar 1.5" spacer. It won't level the truck and makes the truck ride like shit. Look around and see if you can still find some spindles. Wish I would've done that.

Edit: you might want to check out these kits. http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/scan/fi=products/st=db/co=yes/sf=category/se=Toyota%2095.5-03%20Tacoma%202wd%20Lifts/op=eq/tf=sku.html
I forgot they made the control arm lift

OK, will do. Thanks! Any recommendtions for shocks? Mine are spent and DSM told me the Billies I wanted are a no go for 5 luggers.

EDIT: The FAbtech seems to come with shocks. NVM.

I thought someone else would beat me to it but I'll just go ahead and say the general consensus around here is that fabtech shocks suck. can't remember the name of the ones a fellow 5-lugger on here recommended though. He has a radiant red regular cab and does some kind of racing...

Damn. Good to know. My plan for Bilsteins got thrown in the trash so I'm starting to look for shocks all over again. Thanks for the heads up. Fabtech spindles are a good buy, though?

I haven't heard any complaints about them and would love to buy a set for myself... unfortunately I'm a broke college kid now. I did a little digging through old threads I was subscribed too and found the guy I was talking about. He's on customtacos not TW but he recommends KYB Gas a just shocks. He does rallycross and said he tore up some Bilsteins before he bought those and loves them. His names eternalrover over there if you want to look him up and ask him yourself.
