So, 2004 Toyota Tacomas do not have a cabin air filter located behind the glove box? I was going to get it replaced and an oil change tomorrow at the dealership and they quoted me a price by phone for both. They never mentioned that my 2004 doesnt have one to replace.

I washed mine like 5 times until it kinda collapsed. Then I reinforced it with gorilla glue, and washed it some more. Still is going just fine.

Here in Northern Nevada I clean mine out a lot more often than that! :p

I use the fram filter with fabreeze and activated charcoalo built in. Helps with the dog and smoke odor.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
If ya wanna go all phancy and stuff, pop in a K&N filter. The engine AF for a 1994 Mitsubishi Mighty Max pickup with the 4-banger 2wd fits our HVAC space perfectly. Filters better than the home-made solution floating around TW.

As I suffer from pretty severe allergies, I put in a FRAM CF10374 Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter.

It works pretty well - the only other time I breathe so easily is when I'm in our datacenter. However, the downside is that it does restrict airflow so the output of your AC system is somewhat diminished.

I'll probably replace it with a lighter filter for the winter - but this is a huge improvement for the allergy months.

Damn that's cheap. Just ordered 6 of them...with shipping it was about $5 each. At that price it's just not worth buying and cutting up a household air filter. Thanks for the link!

Edit: Logical Source has upped their prices as Kenstar points out on the next page of this thread. They are now $5.54 plus shipping. If I ordered 6 filters today they would be $7.20 each after shipping. That is still real cheap, but not as cheap as they use to be.

x2 I just ordered six as well. They're $3.94 each. I've been washing the original filter for three years and now it's pretty much dead so I'm glad to finally be replacing mine.

I got mine awhile back but am just now getting time to post what they look like....just in case someone is interested in cheap ones. I'm very happy with fit, performance and especially the price:

    Just outta the box:

These are the same ones I got. Picked up 10 so I won't be needing to get new cabin filters for a while. They are pretty nice for the price.

Does my 2012 Taco have a cabin filter? If it does, where is it?

    Thanks

The Nissan Frontier SV does not have a cabin filter. That is just one of the reasons that I am driving a Tacoma today.
