Soooo Cute. Looks like there is some boxer or American Bull Dog in Bruce. Good luck. Looks like he could use a good loving home.

Then you have a slow ass computer or external HD. I transfered 33 Gb of music to my flash drive (which are notoriously slow), in 2.5 hours.

So.. the fan in my bedroom died yesterday and I had to go into the attic to put in a brace for the new one. Previous owner just had it hanging and it always wobbled. I noticed the attic vent had a hole in the screen. I went up there again today to fix it, and there are about a half dozen bats sleeping in the louvers. I came back out of there to figure out what I need to do. the vent is pretty chewed up and needs replacing, and I need to get the bats out of there. I'll probably just go up there after it gets dark and they are gone for the night and put a temporary screen on, then replace the vent when I can. The bats knd of shook me up, I didn't see them right away.

That sounds better, but still even at those speeds it will take 60 hours to move that data.

:playball: the little progress bar thingy doesn't have an estimated time on it....is that a bad sign?

    Hey!!! :(

 Will you have to trap them? What if they don't all leave at the same time?

Yes that is a bad sign that it doesn't have an estimated time yet.

Hey, i know you aren't a technology girl, so SS and 3.0 were out of the question right away, as well as you weren't going to have a cat-6 network setup at home.

I would go with Option 2 myself.

Sounds like a good plan Dave. Sounds like you could use a bat box on your property. ;)

My new hard drive is 3.0 compatible but unfortunately my computer is too old so 2.0 is the best I have right now.
For the record I started the transfer at 618 this evening.

I'm planning to go up there tomorrow night after dark. If they are still there, I'm not sure what I'll do next. I don't want to hurt them, they are rare around here and eat a ton of bugs every night. Maybe I can net them? I have a bat house I got a few years ago and never put up. I need to get it hung up before I get rid of the bats so they hopefully stick around my yard, just not in the attic!

I hope you can clear them out with out without much drama. I'd check every nook and cranny of the house to be sure you've blocked all of their routes in. They don't need much space to fit through.

We had a ton of bats at camp earlier this week. We were just sitting at the campfire and all of a sudden this gray streak would flash through the air above our heads.

Find out how they are getting in and then when they are out at night close off the entrance to the attic.;)
