how to keep my glasses from fogging up inside helmet

hey guys, i just bought the first peice of gear for my upcoming toy/vehicle. Got a KBC Vulcan full face helmet. love it except, just walking around in my garage with it on, my glasses fog up (i have perscription glasses). I have heard rain x makes something. i have also heard of something called cat crap. does anybody recomend any ways to keep the glasses from fogging up?

At work we have some stuff that prevents safety glasses from fogging up. Ill try to get a name tomorrow.

 

zooke. never heard of that. i will have to find that. i want something that will last for a while. I know with the cat crap, you have to reapply it every couple hours. not something i want to do.

no i dont apply it but once every couple of weeks. go to a trade show like the motorcycle shows or the car shows,
stuffs amazing look it up

 

Rain-X makes a product to keep windows from fogging up.

 

i must have heard people put it on the helmet shields then.

 

I haven't tried recently but Fog-X was crap last time I tried it....

Do you have all the venting open on your helmet?? Have you looked for a nose guard? I have a Scorpion full face and wear sunglasses under a clear visor 95% of the time and never have issues with fogging because in the FL heat I keep the vents all open and I have a nose deflector thing...

 

all venting is opened, nose guard came with helmet but it doesn't even reach my nose! I know the helmet is the right size because i cant move my head inside it when someone holds the helmet. when i breath the air is actually shooting back at my face. I will have to take another look but i know for a fact that the piece is about 2-3 inches away from my nose.

 

I go racing all the time and also wear glasses. All I do is crack the visor just a hair and that keeps things from fogging up. We race in HEAVY mud by the way. So far, no problems.

 

I wouldn't worry about it too much, when you start riding I think the small bit of wind that get's in should keep things clear

 

i've read about using foaming shaving cream. rub it on, let it dry then wipe off excess. never tried it myself on anything though.

 

Rain-X anti fog.

We use it on our goggles when we play airsoft.

Don't put the Rain-X on your glasses - as per the instructions on the bottle.

 

i have used shaving cream when i am wear my surgical masks w/ regular work glasses on. it helped for a little while but eventually wore off. Im gonna try opening the visor some and see if that helps.

Our chem-gear masks had prescription inserts. They would fog immediately especially when running around etc. Take some regular dishwashing liquid (liquid soap) and apply it to your lenses. Let it dry and then buff it. Worked like a charm.
