I like my sport seats better than my previous SR5s, but both leave much to be desired.

Maybe most are already doing this, but I've found something very simple really does help - I remove my wallet if I'm driving any significant distance.

Also, I have a very thin cushion (like you'd get at Wally World for a dining room chair) handy. When my bony ass starts getting sore, I just slide that on the seat, and voila....much better.

I find it amazing how many people "complain and whine" about other people's complaints. It was a legitimate question. Get over it.

Hey, are you near Ocracoke? Passed through one time, absolutely loved the place.

LOL if you think these seats are bad you should have spent some time in the 1st gens, those were terrible and makes the 2nd gen seats feel like a La-Z-Boy in comparison.

Maybe the buckets, but the bench in my RC is no better than the 60/40 split bench in my '94 extended cab.

At least I could recline that 60/40.

I love my TRD OR seats, they're pretty comfortable to me. I have driven a 2 1/2hr drive and had no complaints. Supposedly the seats were created by an orthopedic specialist

How different are the seats from a '12 to the earlier model second gens? My friends dad has the '12 sr5 with the leather seats and they're wicked comfy. Heated too.

They're not to my knowledge. They're different in a SR5 than in a TRD OR or Sport

Yes. Pretty close. Big issue here is the enviro whacks trying to shut down beach driving. They're using all kinds of pseudo science and twisted statistics to do it. Used to be able to drive on the beach for free. Now its $50 a week or $120 a year. Lots of tourists that were regulars in the past don't visit here anymore for that reason. Let me plug a couple of organizations that are fighting for our access. North Carolina Beach Buggy Association and the Outers Banks Preservation Association. Both could use more help in fighting the good fight to keep the beach open for responsible off road access.

Not everyone has the same back and ass. Thus, the seats will not be equally comfortable for everyone.

Carmakers pay a lot of attention to ergonomics, but since they have to sell cars to everyone, even the best ergos aren't going to leave everyone happy.

Personally, I find 2gen front buckets plenty comfy.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
The bench seat is nothing short of torture. I've put an OBUS FORME back rest in and it makes it better; not good, better. The Toyota Designers should be shot for these seats, no doubt. images_ff4d707acc1ce005acfe51b685351adbf8c79b9f.jpg

30K+ Tacoma should come from factory w/ leather seats. IMO

I've got a 2012 TRD O/R and I think the seats in it are great. Easily the most comfortable seats I've been in for sitting in for a long time.

30k ain't what it used to was.

    http://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm

Equivalent to about 17k 1990 dollars. About 11k 1980 dollars.

To actually get a nice vehicle these days you're starting at 50k and going up from there.

I agree, but most 30K cars/trucks today have leather.

My Tacoma MSRP'd at 34K...it should have leather.

I really like the base/Sr5 seats in my '06, have they changed? I personally find them very comfortable but like someone said, everybody is different. I guess my butt is close to perfect!:D Or very average.:( The seats in my old '82 jetta, now they made me feel at least 60 years older after a couple hours. Long term, putting up with being uncomfortable isn't a good option IMHO, it gets old fast.

Leather seating surfaces on a primarily vinyl seat if you are REALLY lucky.
