We call those bad boys ar 15.

Bushmaster calls it an m4 just for marketing.

Some of us are into the m4 look. Hence the 14.5 inch barrel with a 1.5 inch pinned and welded flush hider or muzzle break.

yep, i think a lot of folks associate the 16" barrel ARs w/ "M4", ....and the manufacturers play to that mistruth...

Ya... The M4 is 16" if you include the flash hider.

And if it's not an M4, I guess Bushmaster is misleading it then. It's one of their M4 models if that's what they call them. They make those parts for this specific gun to be full auto, but obviously we can't get those parts. The gun came with this book that has everything they made and the parts to make it full auto are in there. Idk what it is, but it has M4 on it, advertised as an M4 and everything. That's why I said it was an M4. Who knows.

I said a step down because this gun is technically a "step up" because it's higher up on Bustmaster's list of "M4" rifles that they sell. Like the one with the 14.5 barrel is cheaper.

Shit LWRCI calls it an M6 and I think the M6 in the military is a bolt gun. Fuck the designations I call them all ARs even the M16s.

    A) Your RDS looks wrong side forward. So I really doubt you've actually tried firing your weapon system.

    B) It's much more complicated to do a full auto conversion than pay the transfer tax. (i.e. it involves getting at least a 07/02, and quite a bit more than $200.)

    C) The Slidefire stock is absolutely garbage.

Uh, no the sears, full auto bolts and even the short barrels are not illegal to own.

What is illegal to own is a lower receiver that is not registered as a machine gun that has a sear pin hole drilled in it. The rest are just parts.

I guess they could be in CA, but your state is so fugged I dont even know why you would own a gun if you choose to live there.

But that would be a state law, not a federal one.

Not jumping into this argument with the exception of this, full auto seers are NFA items and therefore require an SOT or tax stamp to be legal by ATF standards not ca law. 14.5 barrel with pinned muzzle device to make it completely 16" from bolt face to full length are legal as are full auto carriers. The laws in ca are pretty easily navigated regarding ARs thanks to the Calguns foundation.

As for all you other guys if anyone is looking for parts and I can be of assistance check out my site. It's brand new as I've been doing work as word of mouth until recently. I am an 01FFL and should have some receivers and bolt carriers soon (as hard as those have been to get).

Yeah I have the auto bolt carrier from BCM but I knew that was legal before buying it, I just wanted to clear up info on the auto trigger/sear parts.

There are a lot of tuning that can be done to the rifles gas system itself through varying buffer weights springs and even full auto or civilian carriers. Most don't see or care to be honest if their rifle is over gassed or under gassed as long as it correctly cycles. Nor do they need to care unless they are getting using their rifle for something like hunting or long range shooting where they load their own ammo. If a gas rifle is over gassed the bolt will unlock early and the brass will show pressure signs earlier. A heavier buffer and tac spring can help with that. If the rifle is under gassed and short stroking. The gas port can be opened up some or try a lighter carrier like a civilian carrier.

Here is a 6.8 deer/pig gun that benefits from the gas being tuned properly as its running 95gr Barnes TTSX bullets at 2980 fps. I did all the work on this one and it's nearly identical as my personal 6.8 except we set it up for a lefty but didn't want left handed ejection.
