    hey guys!

I am debating between 2 car alarms. One is a Viper that uses my stock remote or the other that is a Clifford 1x that uses a 2way remote.

For the stock setup it'll cost $250 installed before any additional features.

For the 2way setup it'll cost $300 installed before any additional features.

Help me choose please I am so indecisive.

well a two-way lets you know your alarm is goin off...and your stock remote doesn't but you'll know something happened when it chirps three times after you unlock it....its up too you if you wanna know when its happening or later on when you get back to your truck.

Ahh I see I didn't know that it would chirp when you get to the truck if something happened. I plan to have them wire the alarm to my horn instead of the six tone siren. Would it then honk the horn 3 times?

K cool. I personally think the 6 tone siren is tacky and annoying. My horn is manlier!! :)

Valid point. But how expensive is it to replace that 2way remote if I drop it in water and need a new one? I'm trying to weigh out the circumstances.

    Ok cool thanks!!

All I know is the models and pricing. I don't really know what there main differeneces are.

Clifford 1x w/ tailgate sensor $380 out the door.

Clifford 12.5x or Viper similar model w/ tailgate sensor around 50-80 more than the 1x.
