    They are cool
I was looking on Toyota's Mexican site for these but didn't see a 4wd option.
They offer a 4wd of the Hilux?
I know, as stated ^ there is a diesel option. Maybe a Solid front axle? ;)

I don't really like the looks of it, but I like the diesel option.

Ditch the scoop, chrome, grille, get bigger tires and run that Diesel for the rest of your life.
    And probably your children's

I definitely take the Tacoma over a Hilux any day. The looks just don't do it for me, diesel or not.

There is an Aussie member on here somewhere that has a bad-ass Hi-Lux... maybe he'll chime in... it's a sweet rig! But yeah, it does look a bit weak at stock... the old ones are burlier, really high and solid axles.

I somehow love his Hilux. It takes a lot of work to make a Hilux look good. Tacomas are just naturally sexy. :D

well, in the end i like the hilux better from the firewall back... netiher trucks are winners

the hilux looks like his toyota momma cheated on his toyota daddy with a mercedes M-class

and the gen2 tacoma looks like it has anime eye headlights, and a jelly bean front bumper...

but all that being said, slap a clearanced bumper like the ARB or shrockworks on the taco, and it all balances out.

I've seen the hilux with an ARB (I believe the member mentioned has it!) and it looks quite nice. not as nice as a taco with an ARB, but i know whats under the skin... so i cant help but want it more!

To me it looks like it's slanted too far forward... The hood angle is quite steep, and in most of the pictures, the rear end looks like it's sitting quit a bit higher than the front end... perhaps if you lifted the front to level it out a bit.

    You mean me?

I love my hilux and honestly, as a vehicle, it is better all round, thou it does have its downfalls.

The front end styling of the Taco is sooo much tuffer than the hilux.

The bonnet scoop on the hilux is for the top mounted intercooler on the diesel.

The hilux has a full chassis all the way through and is rated to carry 1 tonne in the back before you modify the springs.

What im really jealous of is the huge aftermarket support you guys get there in the states for your trucks.......nobody here yet makes diff gears, we have to bring them in from the states.

and our DOT rules are way stricter limiting our options in regards to lift, tyre size and barwork.

    Here's my introduction thread.....

None. Stock with options - Roof rack, running boards, hood scoop, etc.
When I was in Thailand, I saw many Hilux around. They're smaller than the US Taco. I think it looks good

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
The front of that truck is ugly. It looks like some sort of weird modern day El-Camino. I thought about moving to Australia myself awhile back. I have family members there.
