I put my iPod touch through a washing machine, pulled it out 30 mins into the wash cycle and year later it still works.

I plan on upgrading from my Blackberry Curve 8330 with Otterbox Commuter to the iPhone 4S with a Lifeproof (similar to Otterbox but waterproof) case. I think the Apple phones and iPods are amazing.

I just switched a couple weeks ago from the iPhone 4S to the Samsung Galaxy S3. I love it. Very fast and tons of features. I have always been an Apple guy (9 Apple products in my house... no PCs!) but wanted something different for a change.

Honestly, I'm not sure I will ever go back to an iPhone until they finally decide to make one with a much bigger screen. Both phones are nice but the S3 just simply can't be beat in my opinion (of course, this is my first exposure to an Android phone).

    Good luck.

BTW, the Gorilla glass they put on the S3 and the HTC OneX is incredible. Very tough... big selling point to me. I think the clincher was the screen size and resolution. Watching movies/shows is night-n-day over the iPhone. The screen size is not too big (like the Samsung Note--which was my original pick but two days later went back and traded for the S3) and still makes the phone a very comfortable fit in the hand.

For those considering the S3 or HTC OneX (don't mean to hijack the thread...just FYI):

Incidentally, when I picked up my S3, we were putting my son and daughter-in-law on our plan (both broke college students!) and that's why we went into the AT&T store to begin with. My son got the Note (So did I, originally), and my DIL got the HTC OneX. I was just going to say the OneX is an excellent phone as well. Superb screen and very durable feel--much more so than the S3 without a case. The drawback to me was the lack of expandable memory... no option for a removable MicroSD. With the S3, you can use up to a 64G card... which, is what I bought and put in my S3. That's what I use as the default storage location for all my photos, music, movies etc., now.

I dropped my S2 out of a moving car going 25 mph, watched it bounce about 10 times.....

    Not a scratch on it.

Dropped my IPhone 4 out of my pocket while sitting down. Shattered the screen.

I'm not disagreeing with you and more that likely you are right, but I've owned around 5 droid phones and about 7 iPhones, I've not had 1 iPhone take a shit on me and every droid phone I've owned messed up one way or another.

That's not the reason I avoid them though, I like the iPhone because only 1 comes out a year and there's only 1 set of software (iOS 5), if you buy a droid phone the next better one will come out 2 weeks later and almost every droid phone has different software (ice cream sandwich, honeycomb?). Personally I like the stability of the OS too, although I can't argue about droid phones now since I haven't owned one in over a year.

    Head unit. That's it.
I've used both. Iphones are very basic. If you have a bunch of music stored on itunes get the iPhone. If not, your options open up. I currently have the RZR from Motorola. Battery life blows...but let's face it...you charge your phone every night with either an iPhone or android. Personally I like new software, and get sick of the same ole thing fairly quickly. Only issues I've had were easily taken care of by a soft reset.

As for the Galaxy...it really looks girlie to me. Same with the iPhone. Just my opinions though. They both do perform well as far as usability.

Just a few expensive & DIY things...
Not to jack the thread, but are you guys having issues with the aux jack and the S3.
Droid X was killer with the dock and pausing music when on call.

This S3 is pissing me off with its shitty mics while on a call and not pausing my music. ahh

    Sorry for the rant.
    ( missing my Droid X)
