So why can't we have 30mpg?

    Interesting. My boss has the same vehicle, 2008 4Runner and consistently gets 20. Mostly highway and it's the V6.

    My parents' '11 Highlander, that weighs the same as my truck, has an automatic tranny, AWD, is rated to tow 1500lbs more than my truck, has an extra 110hp, gets the same mileage as my truck at lower speeds, and a lot better at 70mph.

    It sits a bit lower to the ground, but those extra horses should come with a mileage penalty, non?

    It makes 248 ft/lbs of torque@4700rpm, and at 3500, it's still over 225ft/lbs...

    And neither is the 2.7L--180 Lbf@ 3800rpm. It is a little flatter though...
