Well checking that tomorrow at the shop

 

Kept myself from lighting it on fire and in a seperate but related episode almost fell out of the driver's side door while I was backing up and trying to see my leaf pack

Thats not from the axle. The brake cylinder is at the top of the brakes. It leaked and dripped down the backing plate. The backing plate isnt sealed against the axle, just bolted on so it can seep through to the back.

If he had metal to metal contact the wheel cylinder probably just blew out the pistons due to being over extended. I'm sure the metal to metal contact for "quite some time" took a pretty heavy toll on the drum.

Installed my tool box I picked up on CL, I plan to either paint it or have it powder coated black soon.

 

I had my old one done in the spray in bed liner, inside and out. It cut down on noise and looked great.

 

Installed the 12286 Magnaflow muffler 5x8x24 and new exhaust tip...sounds perfect! (well, this was yesterday, but close enough since I didn't see the "what did you do to your Tacoma yesterday thread")

 

Seriously glad you rescued yourself. Falling out of a moving vehicle, even a slow moving one can be fatal.

 

Ya , it was dumb on my part .

I had a clunk in my leaf packs and I was trying to have a look while rolling slowly backwards an my hand slipped off the steering wheel .

I won't try the self diagnosis again

 

I had a wheel cylinder leaking and it leaked through the back like that too. I thought it was an axle seal at first as well, but just turned out to be the wheel cylinder.

 

Installed my plug and play maf cal kit yeah it's awesome, and was totally worth the wait!

 

Glad you made it. I have to ask, when is it ok for me to laugh at this? Because I laughed a little inside immediately and felt bad.
