2013 out in a few days?

I'll save the long story but in general the GM of the dealership pulled a bait and switch on me when it came to finding a White 2012 Quad Cab, long bed, TRD Sport.

After I went off on him because of the drive I made out there he said let me go check one more time I'm 100% sure I can get one even though we dont have one.

He then came out with an invoice for what I had asked for, but I noticed it was an invoice for a 2013 model. I asked him if its a 2012 or 2013 and he just looked at me stumped with that oh shit look on his face. Anyway, he said that the invoice is for a white 2013 Quad Cab, long bed, TRD Sport and this particular one will be in san antonio and he can have it here in a few days maybe a week because they arent getting any white, long bed, quads,trd sports.

Sooooo anyone else get some news like this becuase Im thinkin about waiting for 2013 since I know exactly what I want and cant get it in 2012.

 

i don't think anyone knows or at least Toyota won't confirm anything. there's a guy on here who works for Toyota who said they are definately building 2013s. i think it really could be any day. of course, i just bought a 2012 that is still being shipped to the dealership so i have to think this is the last round of '12s coming up to the Seattle area.

 

Sorta of the same boat. Went in for a 2012 but ended up with a 2013 at invoice. Mine is coming from San Antonio as well, should be here (Seattle) by the 15th of September.

 

What model and price did you get yours for?

Im trying to decide on a really good deal on a 2012 or take what I can get on a 2013.

 

We are expecting them at our dealer in the middle of September. If no one has stock on that vehicle in 2012 in your area, you will have to buy a 2013

 

I was at the dealer today to try and negotiate my vehicle. 100 over invoice ... it's a start I guess. Anyhow, he showed me the 2013 printed literature he stated he received yesterday (had some Limited info and whatnot). I think he mentioned it was about a $1,500 premium over a vehicle loaded with Offroad / Sport + Entune + Towing (maybe around $6.5k MSRP for the package all in). I can't imagine many people would want the Limited. I guess I wouldn't mind the pleather and heated seats, but they can take their chrome.

He showed me some orders people had in for the 2013, including the Limited and whatnot. Of course I forgot to ask if he had one on the lot. What I wanted wasn't available in 2012.

He mentioned he didn't have the full code sheet for 2013 yet.

 

Wonder who's going to be the lucky dog and show the first photo of their squeaky clean 2013???

 

I work at the San Antonio Assembly Plant. We have been building the '13 Model for approximately one week. No word on when they hit the dealers for sale,but I would say September is a good guess.

 

I thought the limited was going to replace the sport

 

So what's the scoop, dude?
Do they look just like the 2012? Is there a Sport model, or did the Sport get shit canned and replaced with the Limited? Any engine changes? Color changes?

I've been working with my local dealer asking tons of questions about the 2013s since I will be ordering one while I am deployed. I asked the salesman if he would have any 2013s on the floor before I left, and he says that he is expecting one to arrive the first week of September. So the 2013s should be here soon! Also, it's only the Sport Upgrade that got canned. My salesman checked several times for me to confirm that I can get a 2013 Sport. Still has the skewp too!

 

I may head over to the dealer this weekend to see whats up. I've been thinking about trading my '11 prerunner in for a '13 4x4. Hopefully they extend the smoked trim headlights to the other TRD packages this year.

 

The Sport did or did not get canned?

 

The standard sport trim remains, but the sport upgrade package (The one with the chrome wheels) is gone.

I don't think they are smoking the headlights on any of the TRDs. Which means you'd have to do the Black Headlight Mod if you want them smoked. I'm going to order a black sport and do the BHLM. I'm going for the black-out look.

 

I actually picked up my 2013 on Monday night =)

It was on the the Sport upgrade package for the 2012s, seems dumb to produce them for only one year model/package. O well, I'll black them out if that's my only option.
