Lots to come at some point. Hopefully soon.
So I have a 2006 Prerunner that is one month outside of the warranty. I contacted my local Toyota dealer and they said they could probably do the TSB anyways. I have only had the truck for a month and honestly haven’t noticed any real problems with the rear shocks. The most I have had in my bed is about 400/500 pounds with "normal" sagging. My question is will they test the vehicle to see if it is in fact defective or will they just see that I have the defective parts and go from there? I just figured if it’s free and it’s a better suspension/ride then I may as well try to get it.

generally speaking, the ride actually is rougher with the trd leafs and shocks...

if the dealer said they'd do it, then it sounds like you're good to go especially since you're 1 month out of warranty as the TSB specifically states that it's covered under the original 3year 36k warranty. Anything outside of that is considered goodwill work on the dealer's behalf.

My 3 leaf road harsh as hell. My TSB springs w/ AAL ride softer. Only reason I can think of for this, is that the 3 leaf was shot.

Hey Maple , Dont tell the dealer that you really dont have a problem. Tell them you bottomed out with approx 500.lbs. I first went to my local dealer about a year ago. They refused the tsb. I loaded my truck with bags of gravel from home depot. Drove it back with the load. They still refused the tsb. Took my truck to the dealer where i bought it last week. Told them it bottomed out with appox 500 lbs . They ordered my parts. Right now i am home with a Dakota rental while my tsb is being done.
Anybody curious about the Dakota? like i was. Its a v8 , nice power, smooth ride, seriously ugly. I wouldn't trade it for my Tacoma .

I wonder if this would cover an 06 US truck with 33K miles on it in Canada?

Yea. The first dealership I went tried to tell me they did 1 spring TSB ever and the guy came back to try to replace it. They said it rode worse with stiffer springs. I like the ride better with stiffer suspension, if feels like the suspension can actually control the weight of the vehicle and it's very predictable. I went to another dealership told them the rear suspension was too soft when I went camping with a load in the bed. Told them I had stiffer springs on my old truck and had my TSB done a couple days later. It rides so much better.

Just so ya know, i finally got off my ass, called Toyota and followed the directions... bottoms out when loaded, fear for safety, etc.

Got a case number, and with that and the TSB number the local dealer went off to source parts.

    Sweet :D

Cool Beerjonny, If yours comes out as good as mine did. Your gonna love your truck. I'm so much happier with my truck since the tsb. Rides tighter.Looks a little taller. Now im ready for some coilovers up front.
