Does anyone know if you can add the 120 volt power outlet in the bed on a 2012 SR5. If so, what parts would be needed? I'm assuming the wiring is already there. You just need the outlet and the inverter unit.
    Thanks
    Hoss

I just bought a 2012 sr5 also Hoss, and would like to add that too if possible. Lets see if any of the guys out there have any ideas.

I'd just buy and install a custom 1000w inverter. That's my long term plan.

I will look into that traveler. Thanks for the idea. I am new to this and can use all the help I can get.

I thought of that but I like the OEM look and it would be a lot easier to plug and play.

As far as stock look goes, isn't that really limited to the outlet? Can you just get a stock outlet and power it with a 1000W inverter? Stock look, better function?

Exactly what I was inferring. You can always route and mount the outlet in the same spot as stock, assuming you have no qualms with losing an otherwise nearly pointless storage cubby.

The outlet is lame. Good for powering a margarita mixer or charging the laptop or tool batteries, but that's about it. Even small compressors and vacuums will trip it (low amps). Plus the engine has to be running. Personally, I'd rather have the larger cubby.

    gonna have to agree

my 2010 SR5 had the 2 large cubbies. the small cubbie is about as useless as the power outlet.
