Do the full time cigarette lighter write-ups work on the 2012 as well? I've seen a few different methods. Which is the best/safest method that won't void my warranty or anything? I have to charge my flashlight through a cigarette lighter, and it's annoying having to leave it in my wife's ride for a few hours. I'd like to do that mod and get some tint later this week.

Did you alter the relay behind the dash, or do something in the engine compartment? I didn't see anything in the fuse panel under the hood. I'm not electrical savvy, but I think the under-hood modification is on the 1st generation Tacomas?

If I can't do it under the hood, I will open the dash when I'm off work later this week.

I added a 3 socket receptacle in my 2006 Sienna and my 1993 pickup. First I put a fuse at the battery. Routed the wire from the engine compartmant, thru a hole to the fender, thru that 8" section to the open door, then under the dash to the mounted receptacle. Keeping in mind it is only for charging the GPS and cell phone. No overnight loads. No loss of charge when I pull the key out. Never had an issue with it. As I shopped, it seemed the simple 3 holer actually took less space than a 2 holer & 4 holer I saw. Plus the outlets were vertical, perfect ergonomics for in the car.

I did the relay jump mod (under the knee panel) three months ago. I haven't had any problems with it.
