Can someone give me a recommendation for a 3"-3.5" lift? Looking at coilovers right now but not sure if there is a safer or better way to get the front end lifted.

 

Hey boss I think I spoke to you the other day at the shop once you got those UCA's installed. You will be good with some coilovers up from if you want adjustably and it you are going to go out to the trails. If you don't intend on going to the desert or trails you will be fine with some Bilstein 5100's. Call up James, he gets damn good prices on Kings if you go that route.

 

Ok for sure, I got the Bilstein 5100s front and rear but when they put the AAL on it raised up the back to about 3" so kings would be the way to go?

 

What do you have the front 5100's set at?

 

They are set at 2.5 right now

good lookin out. i'm about to buy my wheels and tires and need uca's so i can fix the camber on my truck. with my 5100s at 2.5 the outer edges of my stock tires are balding.

 

How about some 885Xs and set those bad boy Billies down to 0"? I romped my ass off like that for quite some time; It's a cheap and effective way of getting lift (and a damn good performing lift) without having to jump on coilovers. But if money if not a factor, I'd jump right into the COs as you can crank'em down as much as ya want.

 

I did my dads truck with this setup and put the billies on the .85 mark to preload the springs a bit to compensate for skids and a hidden winch. It's been pretty bulletproof for about 75k. It is a bit on the high side for a 4x4 but works well for the money.

 

Hell yeah. I've never complained about that set up one bit. It got me through some serious offroading and never failed. I'll always trust the Bilstein products after that experience.

I am possibly going to start cutting all the suspension off and going to install the 12" coilovers that have been laying in my garage for about 8 months! I believe its time, ready for stage II! I bought the springs for it already but havent had the time, Desert season is almost here so I had better get my ass in gear, last thing I want to do is have my off-road toy in surgery during that time, I know this is gonna be a project, not gonna happen in a day.

Bikes are all ready, now the Jeep needs to get done and once the weather cools down I will be in the Desert at least 2 weekeds a month.

Does someone have a pair of rear 5100s I can borrow for a couple 3 weeks?
