Nothing technically. google Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act

Basically it puts the burden of proof on the dealer to prove your modification was the exact cause of a vehicle issue in question

If a mod caused a part to fail prematurely, then they might say that the failed part won't be covered.

exactly the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act is designed to protect you, but you still have to face the music if your modification causes an issue.

The act protects you from and example like this:
Say you install a cold air intake, then your shocks go out. It is clearly an unrelated problem so the act protects you from the dealer claiming you voided your warranty.

However if you install a lift kit and your control arms fail, then the dealer has every right to void the warranty

I'm only being a stickler because this confuses people.

They can't void your entire warranty because of a lift. They will just deny warranty claims that are caused by the lift. A dead battery on a lifted truck will still be warrantied.

Good point. I found out today a dead battery on a not lifted truck is still covered by warranty :)

Yeah, I think he should have said, "If you lift your truck and the control arms fail, then they can deny warranty coverage on the replacement/repair of the control arms."

Usually if the failed part was caused by a non toyota part, its usually not covered. But the act stated above covers most other things. Like putting on and intake, shocks, exhaust. Certainly if you put a turbo on it and blow a head gasket, its probably not under warranty.

Pestilence??? The band??? You get the new one??? \m/
