    They didn't say but said it is really common. He has been puking in the morning and gets very upset after feedings. Takes forever to calm him down and get him to sleep. Sometimes he wouldn't get to sleep and before you know it you have to feed him again. By the time you get him to sleep at night you have about an hour and a half before he wakes up again looking for milk. He is only one month old but still should be sleeping more than he does.

    Hey guys just have to vent to destress a little. I get my sixth graders on Friday then all of my students on monday. I will be teaching as a contracted, full-time teacher for the first time,and that is awesome! But the circumstances of my placement are hell. Tuesday I only have one 37-minute break all day (and I have to eat, plan and transition between two grades and classrooms during that time), then Wednesday I only teach for about 2.5 hours all day, 1 hour first thing and 1 hour at the end (so no leaving). I am at a school that is piloting several new programs as well as a new, complicated bell schedule and new teacher evaluations. Basically, There will be minimal fun for me until Christmas break. My lift should be installed in the next few weeks, so I might be able to get in a couple early fall wheeling sessions but Idk. I'm rocking BFG all terrain ta ko's and am scared of puncturing on a rock, although I did bill Moore without issues (knocking in wood).
    @viper-
    Sorry about your little guy, I know it hurts me to see my child hurting, it must be very hard to see your son like that, not to mention the lack of sleep. My baby girl (4 mos) is still not sleeping through the night. She is a piglet! Eats a lot and often. I found out we can start giving her rice cereal and other semi solid foods that should help her to sleep longer at night. Cross your fingers for me.

    Sounds crazy but when Riley is pissed we put the iPad in her crib on a pop station very low volume so we don't hear it over the baby monitor and she passes out with it. We moved her to the crib at 3 weeks old. She out grew her Bassinet really fast and was cramped in it.

    I think formula is the way to go, my girls wouldnt latch so my wife pumped for the 1st month then we went to formula i think they get to fill there bellys for longer on the formula and keeps a happy baby sleeping more
    plus side for the wifes is that dads can feed in the night too

    Formula is good, but nothing is like breast milk. My wife's milk just never came in, and that was tough on my wife. She felt like a failure. I'm just glad that formula is WAY better than it was when I was a baby. The passive immunity that the baby gains from mom's milk is best, but formula does a decent job.

    Mine couldn't pump for w/e reason. She said it hurt too much.
    We went with formula after quite a few attempts. $26/week on CA back in 2006.
    If u can breast feed, do it. More nutrients, and it's free.

    Not true formulas are so advanced now days breast milk is shown to have no benefit. Which is why we went with formula right from day 3. We pay $29 for 61bottles. Cost co has similac advanced the cheapest. On formula your baby sleeps for longer and gets more consistent food so less fussiness. Almost none of the pediatric docs I kmow(and I know a lot) use breast milk.

    He wouldn't latch either. We are using pumped breast milk and supplementing the extra needed with formula. Wish we could be on 100% BM but she doesn't pump enough. I have heard that the BM is easier digested so they eat more often. Could be part of it but the biggest problem is the acid reflux. Just seems like he is in constant pain. Squirming around and screaming alot. The wife went to the doc today and got him on zantac. Not sure if it is the adult version or if they have a baby version. She is also keeping him more upright, like propping the bed at an angle and putting him in his swing seat. She said so far today he is doing alot better and sleeping good.

    Travis - That is a bummer at 4mo with the not sleeping through the night. I sure hope mine is sleeping through the night within the next month or so. Yea start up with the rice cereal. Head you can put some rice cereal stuff in the milk too, not sure what it was that i read. The solids should help.

    Devin - I was wondering why you were only formula feeding. Gets really expensive that way. Awesome that she is sleeping through the night though. We never got a Bassinet. He sleeps in a pack and play in our room. I think we will do that till he is maybe 2 mo then move him to the crib in his room.

    Currently I have the 8pm and 11pm feeding. The wife lets me sleep through the 2am feeding. She goes to bed at 9 or 10 and i let her sleep through the 11pm feeding. For a while there I couldn't get my son down until like 1 or 1:30. Hoping that the meds and sleeping at an angle will help us out.

    Cherry creek pediatrics said no difference, and like I said most of the piediatric emergency docs I know all said the same thing. They said ten years ago it made a difference but now formulas are so advanced. And the fact I've worked in pediatrics and seen the difference. My baby sleeps and is gaining weight like she should. My friends baby is having a rough time on breast milk gaining weight and sleeping. I'm not saying you should not breast feed we chose not to because we saw happy babies on formula. We would rather pay for formula and have a happy healthy baby then breast feed and have a fussy baby that does not sleep.
