I had a very similar issue, but the cylinder only ruptured on one side.

this and the fact that his wheels would of been coated in rust from the metal to metal contact.

I see no rust on the wheel in the pic and if he didn't hear a banshee screaming...... I am very curious and distrusting of dealers so this one smells funny to me

 

Installed dominator 2 series sidesteps today. I like them much better than the chrome Westins I had before.

I laughed right away , then told everybody on the jobsite what a moron I was so they could laugh at me too

 

Realigned my Dakar leaf pack and retorqued the U bolts , they had slipped on the axle shims and loosened up enough to knock and clunk and make me almost run over myself

 

Glad you didn't hurt yourself. I had a similar problem and figured it out WITHOUT falling out of my truck.
Here's what you do:
Put the truck in neutral and chock the front wheels. then jack up the rear of the truck.

take each rear tire and rotate them by hand a half a rotation forward and backwards. See if you can duplicate the noise.

My truck had this going on and turns out on of the C clamps that holds my leaf pack together had come loose and the leafs were slapping each other when I accelerated (at any speed) from a stop. I had Toyota perform the rear leaf TSB after this.
INITIALLY, when I brought this noise up to the toyota dealership they inspected it and said a trailer hitch I had stored under my rear seat was moving back and forth causing the noise and feeling.
Lesson learned: Always check behind the dealership. I failed to do this after the TSB and now my Driver rear leaf makes alot of noise. After I crawled under and checked it out I noticed a bolt was put in BACKWARDS and is SCRAPING leaf spring mount. So back to toyota with another "issue"

 

Finally got around to hauling something in it.
Good news & bad news.
Good news is the Dakars handled a new washer & dryer with no problem & it hardly lowered the rear.
Bad news is due to new washer & dryer in garage along with boxes & other stuff related to our move I can no longer park in the garage.

 

Doh!!! If that were the case for me, I guess that I would be wearing some very dirty cloths all the time.

 

Really....say it ain't so

 

got the estimate for repairing the fender damage from someone hitting me , and then ordered a bruteforcefab front bumper with the group buy.

 

It's only for 2 weeks until we move out of the old & into the new. Old washer & dryer are being slod with the house so we could get new ones.
No parking problems at new house.

 

Got my driveshaft replaced
Got an alignment
Picked up my skid at the airport

 

Put my new tires and wheels on.

The bed rack is off for mods to fab Rotopax mounts and relocate the Hi-lift brackets.

 

What wheels are those? Did you need spacers or anything or did thy bolt right up? They look real nice!

 

Those are ATX Mojave teflons in 17x8.

Also edited to add: no spacers required, I ordered them for the Taco through Tire Rack and then went to Discount Tires about three hours ago.

Discount removed the TPMS sensors from the factory rims and reinstalled them in the Mojave's and then mounted the KM2's on the Mojave rims.
