The only reason someone would do that is to cause a reaction and provoke the police and incite panic. That dude is a freaking idiot.

Interesting situation there. I feel like that was just a stunt on those dudes part to get the police called on themselves, not exactly sure why they would do that...

    Too many to list now.
X2 I don't mind someone carrying a gun in public, but these guys clearly had an agenda, and had very recently memorized the constitution.

open carry is allowed in most states i believe... open carrying "long guns", or unconventional guns (i.e. not holstered handgun) is kinda a grey area in some places/states though...- generally long guns are considered more of an "offensive" weapon, than a handgun, (more of a defensive weapon).. this was probably in AZ, i'm assuming by the terrain in the background (definitely not CA)...

it sounded like it was a .22lr, probably a GSG by ATI, which is a semi-auto "clone" of an MP5... but basically this gun is "less firepower" than most handgun carriers have w/ more powerful pistol cartridges...

all told, ...i enjoyed the video... they may have been cruising for attention, but we do have some level of tolerance for that in this country (well in most places anyway)...

i don't condone carrying a GSG on a sling per se, ...but adherence to constitutional principles (including state constitutions) is a must... me, i prefer to CC a handgun and extra mags, but that's just me ;)

freedom + knowledgeable and polite cops - it was a good encounter IMO...

i have no problem with open carry. i do from time to time as well as CC most of the time. But carrying around a rifle or mock mp5 is just trying to get some attention.

well id rather CC but here in san diego its impossible unless your uber rich or your famous.

they outlawed OC here but that only applies to handguns so now everyone moved to long guns.

the best part about it in CA it has to be unloaded lol. total fail.

its only a matter of time before long gun open carry is banned with jackwagons walking around with ARs and AKs.

Sounded like he said "Oregon Constitution" at 1:28. Article 1 Section 9 deals with search and seizure in the Oregon Constitution, so I think it's Oregon. :p

hmm... could be... i'll have to go back and listen for that... i was just making an assumption based on the background terrain, looked kinda arid.... anyway, i think oregon is pretty good for gun rights as far as i know...

That was their objective, trying to get some attention. It obviously back fired.... When I watch these videos I just shake my head when the guy starts blabbing on about his second amendment right to the cops like this guy did.

i feel for ya! ...i think CA's current carry laws are blatantly unconstitutional, given heller, given mcdonald... one by one NRA and 2AF are bringing up court cases in unfree states... currently MD is mired after losing a recent court case, ruling it's "may-issue" system of CCW unconstitutional... i'd think CA is on the "to-do" list... ;)
