    So what's so different between these and eBay BHLM lights with clear lenses? If we're going to reseal them anyways, and the reflector bowl doesn't matter any more, wouldn't it be smart to get the cheaper quality ones from eBay? Worst case is the plastic lens fades faster on the eBay ones, but my 09 stock lights are already hazing and they're barely 3 years old. So if they last atkeast that long then I'll be happy lol. Seems to me if its for a Retro, the housing doesn't really matter right? Or am I missing something here :confused:

    I see nothing wrong with the ebay lights myself, just after reading tons and tons of retro threads and PMing as many people as I could most have told me to go with my factory ones or the depo headlights. They say the quality of the depo's are as close to stock as you will find. (But this is what I've heard, hell I haven't even seen a set in person yet not until friday atleast lol) I have seen alot of people with the ebay lights though.

    K. I just know people complain about the light about being spotty or having hot spots with eBay ones, but if the bowl is no longer used after retro, then this wouldn't matter. Also leaking shouldn't matter either since I'm gonna reseal this crap out of whatever lights I open anyways. So I figure the only downside to eBay is maybe cheaper plastic, but as long as it doesn't break, I don't see a problem either. Makes sense to spend less money. Now if i was actually going to use the headlight housing without Retro then I could see where quality matters.

    The cheaper plastic comes into play with the lens. I've heard of some people complaining that the lenses of the Ebay lights yellow out or peel much sooner than OEM. That being said, there are a lot of people on this forum running Ebay headlights without issue. I suppose if you sell enough stuff, there are bound to be problems with some of them.

    Otherwise, the big complaint is sealing but since you'll be resealing anyways, that shouldn't be an issue.

    Yes, like the BMW headlights.

    You'll have to decide how and what to wire it to. Some wire it up so it's on any time the ignition is on so it acts like a DRL of sorts.
    You could wire it to the corner marker light, but it would only be on with the lights and that would kinda lose some of the reason for it.

    Do not wire it to the turn signal... the CCFL can't handle flashing.

    Careful.... Verify the operation of the DTRL. I thought the DTRL flashed as the turn signal. Is it a separate filament?

    Hmm good.question. I'll check if it is tomorrow or.I.could also do it where I switch it to the 2nd option before the head lights turn on? But then my rear lights will always be on :/

    Or just relay it off of a switched power source.... same power source as the radio, cig lighter, etc....
