Picked up Mike's stock engine skid this morning. It's like brand new compared to mine. I'll post comparison shots when I swap em out.

Saturday will be the diff breather relocation mod but I ordered some other stuff for the upcoming 80k mile maintenance. I bought one of Camelback Toyota's preassembled 15k mile service interval service packs (basically air filter, cabin air filter and an oil filter) and also picked up a set of Denso plugs. That'll probably be in a few weeks.

Actually, when I was looking at they 30k mile service packs, it's a little over $100 but comes with a PCV valve and serpentine belt. Any of you guys replace the PCV valve as part of routene maintenance???

I've never replaced the Pcv valve but I changed the serp belt last winter . She was a screamer . A small drill bit works to hold the idler pulley while you change it.

Mine's still quiet, I need to make sure it's not cracking since it's 5 years old. I might have to do that this winter.

I've never heard of replacing the PCV valve for standard maintenance and don't even see it listed on any of the dealer's recommended services either (usually they're the first to try to gouge you). I'll hold off on that one for a while or maybe I'll buy that kit through Camelback also and do it along with the serpentine belt.

It wont hurt. Pull the old out and do a rattle test. If it rattles put it back in and save the new one.

Hey I was thinking of when it's time for new tires, changing them from 305/60-18 to 285/65-18. Ends up being 1/4" taller, but 3/4" thinner. How do you think that will affect gas mileage?

I havent even bothered trying to wash it off. Didn't help that I was roosting dirt 30 feet in the air.
