He's from Québec, the only Canadian province who still has a firearms registry in place and home of the most rabid antis in North America. ;)

This guy (recognize his voice) has dozens of such videos on YouTube, nearly all seeking similar confrontations (with police, store owners, etc). In each, he does incredibly stupid things (waving his guns around erratically while loitering, approaching strangers, standing near cashers in stores, following people, etc) until a store owner responds or someone calls the cops. At that point, he starts screaming about his civil rights. I have very little patience for the foolishness of such jerks.

I like how he mentioned Terry v. Ohio.... He's a dumbass cuz that case law makes it legal to stop and frisk someone you reasonably believe to be armed and dangerous, or involved in criminal conduct. With a fake MP-5, I'd say I'd reasonably believe he is currently armed and dangerous, and involved in criminal conduct!

And just like you saw, he lost his reasonable suspicion and told the guy he was no longer detained. It turned into a consensual encounter at that point.

actually, local police depts. have received reprimand here in OH for harrassing OCers... it's pretty much been litigated that OCing, in and of itself, doesn't warrant "inciting panic", or anything like that would require a "terry stop"... there have still been some somewhat "contentious" incidents, ...but OC has largely been protected by the court here...

Dude's a douchebag for flaunting his second amendment rights.

Cop handled that beyond extremely well - good for him.

Actually, until they manage to push the ban through, open carry of a long gun is NOT currently prohibited in California with the exception of the Federal prohibition on possession of a firearm within 1000ft of a K-12 school.
Surprisingly, even California's gun-free-school-zone law, PC626.9, only mentions handguns and does not prohibit long guns... but of course Federal law prohibits carry within 1000ft of a school in all 50 states unless the person carrying has a CCW

I know, CCW has nothing to do with long guns, but the CCW provides an exemption to the federal GFSZ law, which unlike California law, does not limit itself to handguns.

And FWIW, we've got a couple of douchcanoes out here in Ontario who keep carrying their AR's and filming it trying to get into a confrontation with the cops... and as much of a dumbass thing it is to do, the videos are horribly difficult to watch.

Open carry of a pistol I can see being protected, but open carrying of a potentially illegal/dangerous weapon, that should be pretty cut and dried.

By illegal I mean, you own it without having the proper documentation, ID, Tax stamp, title 2/class 3 license.

We recently had a ruling that California DOJ's policy toward issuing AW permits was "underground regulation"

DOJ has been saying that AW permits could only be issued to a person, and not to a company... meaning that an FFL who applied for an AW permit had to do so under his own name and not the name of his company.

Baby steps. This is no help to Joe Gunowner, but it's just another piece of the stone chipped away.

well, ...i personally attended a 2A rally on our statehouse grounds a couple years back.... most who attended were OC'ing, ...many OC'ing long guns... the general "rule" for the event was no chambered round on long guns... the OH patrol was overlooking the event, ...no confrontations, no arrests, no problems... ;)

    i was a whimp, ...i CC'd :D

yep, but the bigger issue for you guys, i think, is "right to bear", ...or lack of it... "may issue" CCW + no OC allowed anymore = unconstitutional SOL for folks in "certain" counties...

    It's coming.

Just kick some regular donations to CGF and 2AF.

It's just a matter of time before the whole fucking thing is tossed.
