    I ordered from dealer in town yesterday, I picked it up today and installed it in 30 minutes. It works fine, backwards like so many have posted her. The part number for my 2012 is: 84658-02710. $152.00 + tax. It took the parts guy some time to figure out which one was the intermittent as they don't specify that on his drawing. I didn't have the balls to ask him for the part number so I could save 30 or 40 bucks so I ordered it. I'm happy it's done. Thanks everyone for the help.

    Thats good news, I am really curious how on a 2012 Taco that came with the intermittent switch it works the "regular" way and you plug the same switch into a 2012 base model and it works the other...

    if the brains are in the stalk and the ecu is out of the question, what gives?

    I appologize, I was ADD HD and OCD with Honors in high school, still am I guess, lol...

    Mine is 84652-04141, so apparently we do have two different part numbers and that could explain the difference between the direction the speed control rolls.

    So if we have part numbers that are different, if I order a 2008 model wiper switch it should in theory work normally in my 2012?

    But yours should work the OEM way in my 2012,

    I may just bite the bullet and order a switch from an 08,

    Fixed that for you.

    I did the mod right after returning from Texas. I hit some showers on the road... and they were just showers. Intermittent would have been really nice, but something slower than "too fast" would have been acceptable.


    Also, this stalk automatically turns on the wipers and runs them on a time-delay when you pull for the washers, unlike the lame stocker that sprays the glass and you have to manually go to "too fast"

    All three are $110.28 + $11.03 shipping from Toyotaoempartsworld.com AKA Sun Toyota Port Richey FL. The problem is they want the VIN to verify that the part will work. I replied back of course the part number will not work with my VIN because I have the useless wiper controls and I want intermittent wipers.

    The dealer closest to me in Naperville IL wanted $175 for the int wiper switch.

    I ordered 84652-02710 Wednesday evening. I may see have it today.

    My question is if I install the part, will that screw with the warrenty?

    You'll be fine. It's Toyota OE. If there is a wiper problem down the road you can always swap in the 3 speed stalk.

    I used -02610 in my 2012 it works great.

    They ask for VIN for confirmation but it is completely optional.

    What part of the warranty?

    The manufacturer can not "blanket" void your 3/36 (or whatever you have) because you installed a part unless that part caused a failure, and they can not be held to honor warranty coverage on the part that you installed.

    Installing the intermittent wiper stalk will only void the warranty on your 3-speed wiper stalk, assuming you don't short something out during installation.

    So wether you look up a 2005 or a 2008 or a 2012 on this link, which I prefer because they show you the part numbers, the stalk is the same number, the 02710, know we know the speed is reversed from the original way, is it possible to get a wiring diagram on the web for the plug that goes into the switch itself, take the plug apart and just switch the two pins that relate to wiper delay,

    taking that wiper stalk apart would be an exercise in micro circuits. I would consider myself very high on the automotive anal retentiveness scale, and the orientation does not bother me. Once ur driving and it sets in, more rain / less rain, they work as they should, you really do end up forgetting about it. Unless you try the old version? But why gamble with the $130?

    Gotcha,

    Just curious, I once had the turn signal cancel feature die on an old Civic and I heated up the column portion of the switch and used about three little screw drivers and took it apart and ended up fixing it, lol

    it's the OCD in me!

    "02710" is simply the part number preface that says "Wiper Stalk for Toyota Vehicles"
    The 2nd half of that number determines the exact configuration.
