Thing is I didn't own any guns in 94 because I was 17. They also didn't ban existing guns at the time, I am pretty sure those got grandfathered in and those grandfathered guns increased in value drastically which is why you didn't see much resistance from the populous. This time things would be different because they knew the last assault weapon ban was a fucking joke. Do not expect the next one to be so easy on us.

It's too cold up there to put up a fight :p. Personaly for me, I just really enjoy going out and target shooting and having fun. Guns are a hobby of mine. If the government wants to ban/outlaw my right/hobby im gonna be pissed.

what if canada wanted to ban ice hockey? I bet a lot of people would be pretty upset. Look what happens when someone up there loses the stanley cup, people go ape shit and riot, imagine if they said "no more hockey"!

I bet it would look like this.

lol, same here. although i work in corrections and deal with the dregs of american society on a daily basis, i have decided to not own one, although i would not begrudge others. we specifically chose a very good town, with very little crime, great neighbors who watch out for one another, and in a rural area. don't know if the statistics still hold, but i remember reading, and still do, about how a gun in the home is more likely to be used against a fellow family member, even if accidentally, than in actual defense, often leading to tragic consequences. i believe in the 2nd amendment, but often wonder what the founding fathers would think now.............:notsure:

Yep but if in the case you do need them, guess what? Your fucked. Kind of like Zombie said, what if they banned Tacoma drivers in Canada, how would you fight back? You wouldn't, you would just buy a Chevy like a good little boy and go about your business. You may think it could never happen but ask the German Jews in 1920 if they thought they would be close to being exterminated in 20 years. They would probably laugh in your face. Guns not only give you the means to fight back, but they also keep the people you might have to fight in check.

Honestly? They would be mad that F16s aren't available to the civilians that could afford them. Back in their time if you had the money to buy a schooner and out fit it with 24 cannons, no one would stop you. More often then not, civilians had better weapons than the Army. The forefathers would probably have already revolted by now as well, due to the utter lack of civil liberties that we have in this country. So wondering if they would be pro-guncontrol is laughable. Back in their day a sword had the same effectiveness as an assault rifle does today.

I'll give up my guns, I have no problem with that. They can have my squirt gun, rubber band gun, Nerf gun, pop gun and finally my circus spark gun!

My guns aren't just for "home protection", or something I carry to know "I'm always preparred", they're just something I like to take out from time to time and actually use. I love to see things explode. I love the smell of the gun powder. I love to take them apart and clean them. I love to buy accessories for them. I'm a man, it's in my blood.

I've used my 45 to scare away a bear that was getting a bit too comfortable in my campsite. It sure was useful that day. I didn't shoot the bear, I shot near it to make noise. It stood there and looked at me. It finally took off on the 2nd shot. I go into the hills and camp where help is far away. I've met creepy people out there. Knowing that I have a gun makes me feel a little bit safer.

There are a lot of freaks in this world, knowing I have a gun on me to scare off dangerous wild life that could possibly be a threat while hiking, or some creep that comes around and looks at my wife, kid or dog funny, definitely makes me feel better than if all I had was a wing and a prayer.

I'll NEVER willingly give up any of my guns. Ok maybe the piece of shit CO2 BB pistol, they can have that one. Now GTFO my property and don't come around here threatening me. This is where I live. Go away, you're not welcome here anymore. I'm minding my own business, I advise you to do the same.

Food for thought: All revolutions "start" at something called a "flashpoint". Most flashpoints take the form of an arms/gun grab. From Thermopylae, to Lexington/Concord, to Syria.

Here's another thought...let's say all the "responsible law abiding citezens give up their guns" to Hitler, oops I mean to whoever comes to get them...now that these people who have no guns think that the world is so much safer, (even though there are going to be countless gang members and millions & millions & millions of other non registered guns out there) what's to stop the guy who has a machine shop and the knowledge to use it from building his own firearm the day after the nazi's came and took his registered guns? Sorry people, there are always going to be people (most good, but some bad) with firearms and I know I'll be one of them, even if it comes down to me having to build it.
