Uh, melted intake box?

    if it was then the bottom would have shown damage as well

    I bet the guy who changed your oil melted that lid, or swapped it. Don't see a reason why just the lid is melted and nothing else. Highly doubt it's your truck that caused it.

    The corner is turned up. If it were melted in place the corner would've drooped. I'm still sticking to my theory (my post was orphaned on the last page) that someone took the lid off, set it on top of the engine, and it accidentally fell and wedged next to the exhaust manifold.

    vent shades, tinted windows, clear bra, pop n lock tail gate lock, anytime fog light mod.
    yeah, oil change dude took off the cover to inspect the air filter, the cover dropped onto the motor and melted. oil change dude didn't want to get in trouble so he didn't say anything. i've seen how these guys operate. i have experienced drain plugs that aren't tightened so they fall off letting the engine run dry, stripped bolts and over filled engines. i always do all of my own work now.

    some monkey at the dealer when changing your oil checked your air filter and left it on a warm engine/object. Then just put it back on figuring you never open your hood.
