lol that's what i was hoping wasn't the case. to hack out a bumper is one thing...but to just decide to to a canti setup with little to no fab or basic suspension knowledge is popcorn status for sure

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
I finally got a chance to speak with the guy in my town who is running a custom built canti on his 1st gen not too long ago. So legit.

If you need some kind of direction on your canti project, I can point you towards some guys who have done the r&d and built pretty successful ones for Tacomas. ;)

If/when I LT my truck, I wouldn't mind a canti in the back. I use the shit out of my trucks bed.

That truck above is what I will be basing mine off of. This isn't going to be no hack job tho I am very new to fabrication work. There will be plenty of research done. It's also going to be a long term project. I have a very high attention to detail so if something doesn't turn out well I'll do it over until it does. And really what other way is there to learn? You can only read so much before you just have to start building and learning as you go.

Good on you, man. Wish I had the time, moreso, the talent to start fabbing my own stuff. Just not my calling lol. Will be sub'ing your build ASAP.

Ya Matt thanks again dude! TURNS OUT, Drew is a good buddy of an old high school friend of mine haha. We knew OF each other, but never really spoke way back then. He is very knowledgeable for sure. He also referred me to Steven Fike of Dirt Designs("SOCALMOTO" on TTORA) as well. Small world getting smaller!

Build some bumpers, slider, or spare tire holders fist just to get the hang of proper fitment and knowing a good weld from a bad one ;) Then you learn little things you can do to make life easier. I don't doubt people, shit I used to build computers back in the day

yes i may have made it sound like was going straight to fabbing the canti but i will definitely get my time in on some other thing just to get the hang of building things. then once im confident in my skills i will begin to start the canti stuff. im still in the parts gathering phase tho lol
