What oil is better. Synthetic or regular? What is the largest size tire I can put on my truck. Which exhaust should I get? BFG or Nitto? Show me your Truck!

Yeah, it's a bit of a piss off. Didn't find a thread for my wiper assembly though!

Dunno, I'll probably catch hell for this, but i am recently more sick of people telling people rudely to use the search button. I agree that people should probably search before asking questions, but many of those people have come over to this forum from other ones because they are sick of the rude people on the other boards. Take it as you will, not trying to be rude to you, but you were new to forums once too, and i am sure many of us have asked tons of questions that have been asked before.

No, I Agree... To An Extent. But Honestly Before I Take The Last Resort I Search My Ass Off. I Mean Come On, What Are The Chances My Question Has NEVER Been Asked Before?

*edit* and i never have rudely told somebody to use search, i am always willing to give advice and a helping hand, just wish some people would do a little research before hand.

i think most new people that are new to forums just start a thread with a question that is proablly on the same page just to lazy to look. I get pissed when people give smart ass answers to some guy that is new and has no clue how to search. I help everyone out if I can. I get even more pissed when someone that has 30 post's and start to be an asshole to some other new guy like they are the king of this forum. that's my .002

Tinted windows LOL, they look sharp as shit tho...
What is funny to me is that instead of a forum that is open for discussion you get the guy just telling people to search, this isn't a FAQ. It takes longer for me to search for my specific comment when i could just pose a question and get it answered to my specific needs by a knowledgeable person, and it sparks conversation. Just my input.

it does get kind of silly to see the same question posted many, many, MANY times... but your not required to post in every thread (except for Delmarva) so just ignore the ones you don't feel like giving an answer to....

but sometimes its so blatantly obvious that they didn't search (i.e. What are some good brands for a 1-2 inch lift?) that maybe they need to be told to search because they may not know how

You gotta realize..... people are NEW to this forum and NEW in general to the internet.

People don't know how to use it.... and you've gotta remind them to use it AND tell them HOW to use it. Until they get more familiar with using forums & internet....they'll eventually get better at it.

But, there will always be new people in their place to do it all over again. Which makes it feel like a constant battle of people who never use it.

It's the way of the forums....all forums are the same way.

If I can help a person I do, even if its asked a number of times.
Some of the most knowledgeable folks here are the most helpful & answer the same question a zillion times.
That is what makes this my favorite tacoma forum. :woot:

Seach can be your friend IF you hit on the words that will pop up what you looking for. At least TRY to search it out and let everyone know you DID try...

It is annoying when dumb questions are asked that are basic/general questions. It's all about the me me me mentality. Who cares what others have posted before, I need to know what I need and need it now.

To me, that is more rude than someone suggesting how to use a learning tool to them. Harden the (&*^ up.:)

Well, it's easier to ask than to search. Plus, people are used to forums where the search function doesn't work too well, so they just ask. The search function on this forum works well, hell it even works if you're not logged in, but people don't know that.

What I try to do is search for the poster's question/subject, then post the link to his/her question and mention that I found it by searching.

The following is in good fun and in no way is supposed to piss anybody off.
I just want to say that its funny that this thread was created by a noobie whom didn't search first to discover that there are previous threads discussing use of or lack of using the SEARCH button.
Anyway, if this forum gets you fired up and all pissed off then you should probably sign off and go have a beer. :poking:
