My dealer put these tires and wheels on my base model to make the deal happen. What I wasn't ready for is the ungodly amount of noise these "mud and snow" tires make on the highway! I do about 20,000 miles of highway driving a year.

These M+S tires are brand new but I'm not sure I can live with the noise. I do like their size. Can you guys recommend a good all season highway tire in a beefy size like this? Tall and skinny is what I'm looking for I guess.

this is the normal (edit) 16" wheel

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
That's the 16" wheel from the off roads... I have falken wild peaks and love them. Low road noise.

I'm in the same boat. Tires, soon. I hear CSX uses Goodyear silent armor on their trucks. They are $297.00 ea. Oouch.

Michelin LTX at2. They are an all terrain but still very quiet on the highway. They are even more quiet than the goodyear highway tires I had before. I am very happy with them.

Michelin also makes LTX ms2 that have more of a highway tread and a 70,000 mile warranty.

    Good info, thanks guys.
I'll plug the #'s on the side of this tire into tire rack and see what it spits out.

    JT thank you...

I ordered Michelin LTX MS2, they are a 'highway all season tread', and def look it when i saw them.

I was able to sell my current Mastercraft's which offset almost half the price of the LTXs. Kudos to tire rack, since they beat every single price i could find on the tires locally by a long shot. I was getting quotes locally for close to $1000! through them it was around $650 for all 4 tires. The LTX seems like they are very popular and have great reviews. My dealer who sold me the truck with these tires on it (my fault for not test driving them), has been awesome, they are going to swap my tires for me for $100. so i thought that was fair.

I will report back with a review of the LTX MS2 after a few hundred miles.

Put the Michelin LTX M/S2 on today, what a difference. the tire isnt broken in yet, but they are so quiet. its a totally different truck now without the whirrling of the all terrain treads. I will post a review after 1000 miles or so to follow up regarding traction. very happy, i wanted quiet and that they are. They are also pretty reasonable at around $150 a tire...

B737, If you monitor the inflation and rotate the Michelins, there is no reason you cannot get over 100,000 miles on them. In my opinion, they are the best road tire made. I have ran MS and MS2 for over 300,000 miles now. I will not accept a lesser tire.

    B737,

I have mine at 32-34 lbs.

I kept waiting and watching my first set of Michelins. I was thinking 50,000 or so. They just kept going. When I finally did take them off at 110,000, I traded them to my barber for a haircut. He got another 20,000 out of them, but he lived in town where they plowed the snow in winter.

I took the Original Dunlop 245X75R-16s off at 1300 miles and replaced them with Michelin LTX MS2 265X70-16. This size kept my speedometer fairly accurate.

well no wonder i felt like these were a little firmer than the ATs i took off....
they were set to 40 PSI!!!
i just brought them down to 34. im sure ill be searching how to reset TPMS within the next 6 hours.

no clue why the dealer would set these tires to 40 PSI?! the door of the truck says 30psi, and the max tire pressure itself is 42!
