I just visited Chris4x4 in person *blush* lol... We came to no solution as to what is causing the "clunk" noise.

Brought it to alignment shop and they wont admit fault and cant figure out what it is either.

I Just took re torqued everything and removed the skid plate and sway bar hoping that might fix it. NO luck again. It could be the tie rod ends or most likely the rack and pinion.

Im thinking to R&R your TRE's and put them back on to the propper torque value. Your are WAY to tight. Also, Check your lower control arm bolts, where the cam adjusters are. Make sure they are tight. Your truck is clearly makeing a noise....... My only other suggestion, is to have me R&R everything you have installed......:(

I had a strange clunk in my Plymouth that started right after I got it back from the shop. It clunked whenever I turned left, but clunked louder whenever I turned right. It only happened if I was going over about 10 MPH and on a rough road it clunked erratically all the time.

The mechanic swore that they did everything right and it wasn't their fault. they stared at it about 10 minutes and said everything's fine.

I went home and I started just banging on the A-arms and tie rods with a rubber mallet to try and find it but I didn't hear a thing. I finally got exasperated and wacked that mallet on the inner fender and it clunked!

Turned out I found a Snap-On flex head ratchet that had got left under the hood, and slipped down between the inner & outer fender. Needless to say I kept it.

Hahah nice.. I think I found the problem with my clunk problem. I believe it is the dust guards for the brakes. They are hitting my new spindle I think... I will no for sure by the weekend when I yank them off. Ill keep you all posted.

Indeed we torqued that up and clunk went away. Chris4x4 is my hero.
We also changed spark plugs, in cabin air filter, and full synthetic oil change!!

Also I still get a little bit a noise coming from the font when backing up at full lock. Its the dust gaurds for sure but I'm not worried about it cuz I rarely hear it. :D

    Thanks Chris!!!!

Ive been having this problem for a little while now and just started to search for answers. I got the 6" Fabtech lift and have 35k miles on the truck. It seems to have a loud popping sound on the lower driver side. Everything is tight and looks fine. The CO's are cranked to about the middle, just slightly above level from the rear. It pops going over curbs, and when turning on uneven grounds mainly. It is getting to the point where I think damage could be occuring. Did you guys ever find an answer to the problem and a way to fix it?

I have had the same problem ever since I got my 06. It had 14k on it when I got it. I thought it might have some thing to do with the spacer lift I had so I got Icons and TC UCAs. did not help at all. I tore apart my second intermedeat stering shaft. It has a lot of side to side play in it. and at the point it conects to the steering colum it has this giant rubber bushing that I think servs as the steering sablizer that our trucks don't have. I feel exactly what you are describing except only in the steering wheel. New second intermediat shaft is $250. Im going to try that when I get home. What do you think Chris????

I have not replaced the UCA's yet, still stock. I dont feel it in the steering wheel. Wheels are rotating when it happens and it feels like a gear slipping almost, like from the CV's. I am thinking about lowering the front a little to get back to level and grease the hell out of what I can to see if there are any changes.
