Hey guys, this next weekend I plan on buying a set of Bilstein 5100's to put on the front of my truck to set at the #3 setting (1.75" of lift if im not mistaken) to level my truck.

Im a little different in what kind of tires I can choose from because I have 20" wheels. This being said, its kind of hard to find insightful advice from people because most guys don't run 20" wheels. I would love to be able to fit a set of 295/50-20 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires on after I level my Tacoma. But if I cannot, I will just have to settle for something else.

Its not a 4wd truck so this is just for looks. My question is, can I fit the tires on the truck with the modifications i plan on doing to get the look i want.
    Thanks guys

    265/50-20's

They are street tires. Something the lady had on the truck before I bought it. Just a low profile street tire that's all. A 30 second glance and I could tell I could put a little bit bigger tire as is (something about another inch in diameter) but Id like to go with my plan.

Just saw you have the factory 20s. I would definately test fit the tires.

I ran 305/50/20 & rubbed a lot on 2.5" of lift and 5" back spacing.

are you sure you got the tire size right? I didn't think they made a 305/50-20, I know they make a 305/55-20, and that tire is 33.2 inches so I can understand where you may have rubbing there.

oh you have the Terra Grapplers A/T!?

I may wind up having to go with those, but Im trying to get the Trail Grapplers M/T to fit. The smallest they come in for a 20" wheel is 295/55.

If i cant get that to fit ill wind up going with the Terra Grappler A/Ts like you have there.

Hows the ride on those 20s?

    That would be fun :p

Here is another member with 20" KMC Rockstars on 295/55R20 Nitto Trail Grapplers M/T
hes got the look im going for but I dont know what he had to do to his truck to get them under there.

I know, 26 lbs is pretty nice compared to most others. I really want this set up under my truck.

...just thinking here, since im getting these 5100's next week to lvl my truck.... What If i just set them to 2.5" to fit the tires on? Would that be tall enough? What would I have to do to the rear to make it lvl?

Cheapest way would be blocks, best way would be a leaf pack, best bang for the buck would be an add-a-lead.

i think ill do 5100's at 2.5" and a pair of 1.5" AALs in the rear.

that should get a 295/55-20 under my truck with at the very most, minor trimming.

You will still rub just not as much as 1.75, Do some plastic trimming & cab mount chop and you'll be good.

you really think a cab mount chop would be all that necessary? i mean, they are only 11.6 inch wide. Ill give you yes they are almost 33" tall but Ive seen others run that big of tire on a 2.5" lift.
