04 Tacoma turned Buggy

removed the LCA bushings to put in the new energy suspension poly bushings, and i was a freaking pain in the ass.



left this crap all over the driveway


and did this to my shoes

 

iv seen some pics of second gen LCAs failing at bushing sleeve (never seen it on a first gen tho) but i figured id rather be safe then sorry so i went ahead and ran a pice 1 1/8 x 1/8 around the sleeve.

 

something iv been wanting to do for the last week’ish. to bad my trucks still out of commission.


55 watt H3 bulbs in the corner light.

looks good! how did you attach the bulb to the housing? does it get super hot?

 

just used two small sheet metal screws (ill get a pic latter) it gets pretty hot i let it run for about three hrs last night and it didn't melt the housing at all so i think it'll be alright.

 

update on the corner lights-- total fail, left em on over night and it melted the hell out of the lens.

what a fail on my part, cant believe i completely over looked this when i was building my LCAs

should clear if i run a 1.5” wheel spacer and trim the pad a little bit...hopefully

 

picked these up for $184, pretty good deal.
there 16.5x10 so know i can run military tires. im going to re-gear to 5.29s then i just need to decide between the 36’s and 37’s

 

cycled rear suspension to find new shock placement

 

new rear shock tabs different then my old ones in that the shock eye is perpendicular to the axle v.s parallel to the axle, did this because the hemi joint in the lower shock eye was binding up limiting the my flex.

 

ya im having second thoughts about the military tires now, i keep hearing all kinds of bad stories. and thanks.

 

installed a trans cooler last night, and am in the process of doing a tundra brake swap right now.
