X2 on the CO2. I was filling the 37's on my FJ40 from 12psi to 30 psi in about 25 seconds. the portability of the tank is just so conveniet and they are fast and cheap to fill.

why you need a bed cap? The bracket I use to hold mine is designed for a fire extinguisher and can be locked. I've run a tank in my open top FJ40 and in the open bed of my '93 pickup that were both daily drivers and I didn't worry too much about theft.

after the move i'll be getting one mainly to help transport dogs and keep gear safer...

got ideas for a floor drawer system to free up the full bed and get rid of the toolbox..

my viair works good for now, but when i redo the truck, i'll be looking into this option..

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Yep you can lock and unlock a ARB locker over 500 times on a 20oz tank. I don't know how many times you could do it with a 20lb But I'm going to find out :spy:

Awesome build man. Between you and Monte I have gotten tons of ideas. I had my jeep stolen about a month ago so I'm in the process of purchasing a 99 to 04 tacoma for work and wheeling. Was wondering how you like your lift and how cutting the frame rails and cross member went after doing the bed bob

I've been putting some thought into it and I think you guys are right about keeping the shocks under the bed for several reasons. For one, it's easier.
Also I think it'll offer more flexibility with the bed rack setup. Plus if I ever want to take the rack out to carry something, I would be SOL if I had them come up through the bed.

Thanks, the OME lift is great. Simple, inexpensive, and robust. The only thing I don't like is the rear shocks have only 9" of travel and the leaf packs seem to have plenty of flex that is being wasted. I've had zero problems with it though. I think the OME lift is perfect for overland/expedition builds.

No problems with the frame/crossmember after the bob. The 2 1/2" square tubing I have as the rear portion of the bumper was fairly close to the old OEM crossmember location, and combined with the frame boxing, allowed that to serve as the replacement crossmember.

Yea i think if you just relocate them under the truck.. you'll be fine.

Even my shocks are still under what I could possibly call a bed  And I have more flex than you :D

Awesome thanks for the reply. What shocks would you recommend so as to maximize flex in the rear end?

how did your km2s do in the snow up there?

i like how they offer a 285/75/17 but i've heard a lot of mixed reviews in the snow and hard pack

Yes siping makes all the difference. My KM2's did well for me last winter after having them siped at Discount Tire. They still aren't as good as a dedicated winter tire but much better siped than not siped.

yea it'll be tough going from a duratrac in the winter to anything else...but i like the idea of having a 34x11.5 tire
