I sure hope Toyota seizes the opportunity to make the Tacoma a truck with a much broader market appeal. I'm an old geezer - relatively speaking - for this truck, but I like it's size, versatility and fit and finish. But....I am now lusting mightily for the new Ford F-150 because you can get it with stuff like leather cooled seats and tons of other goody options. All the reviews I have read suggest it is rock solid like a Toyota. I drive my truck to work...shopping, everywhere..... so I am more interested in something that can be a utility AND comfortable. My only complaint with the Tacoma is that Toyota has been stingy with options to cut costs. Come on Toyota, this is the perfect vehicle for the high priced gas age, make it a mini F-150....OR ELSE!!!

Unfortunatly, I am the direct opposite. I like toyota's basic nature. Heated seats, leather interior, power seats with memory are all novelty items to me. I can move my seat just fine on my own. I can roll the windows down with my arm and I don't need a remote (or steer wheel controls) to adjust my radio. To me, it's just more stuff to break. I wish I could have ordered my truck with no carpet or power anything (or ABS but that's a dream).

With the lack of mentioned options I don't feel like my taco is missing anything. I would prefer toyota to focus on more pressing issues. I.E. Leaf springs, tailgate, bed lights or cargo lights ect. Plus, most the options on a ford are availible aftermarket for a taco. Trouble is, it's easier to pay for leather seats when you can roll it into your call loan. I can understand why people enjoy those amenities I just don't see them as a must.

    Just my $0.02

bye....the day that the tacomas start putting all the unneeded BS in it for options is the day they slap a ridgeline badge on the side

Bingo. I used heated/cooled seats as an example (I hate heated seats). It's as if Toyota doesn't even read sites like this. It's gonna cost them......

How about JUST LEATHER SEATS!!!! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK TOYOTA!!!!!!

None. Stock with options - Roof rack, running boards, hood scoop, etc.
Certain models should come with a Sunroof/moonroof !!! That's my only complaint

I can understand wanting those, and would not have a problem with them offering them as options, as long as they didn't become standard features. I don't need (or want) anything fancy... just a solid, well built truck (and a diesel engine).

Ford = junk.. And with that in mind I'm looking to buy a pre-95 explorer sport for a 4x4 project rig because they are cheap to get and have strong running gear. But I know I'll be fixing it a lot. Fords are pretty much disposable at 100K.

I have a relative with aftermarket leather seats. They suck and look like shit. Factory leather is much higher quality.

Did I say I didn't love my Tacoma? Nope. I love it! I just want more options to be made available on it. Pure and simple. I can afford them and am willing to pay for them.

I can relate.... and have have the same thoughts.

What bothers me the most - is the lack of POWER SEATS.

C'mon, I'd expect non-power seats in the cheapest & most affordable econo box that you could buy for $12,000.

If Toyota can add VSC, traction control, and all that other fancy stuff in a truck that costs $25-$30,0000...why the hell haven't they added POWER SEATS??
