Hello everybody, I've searched for awhile but couldn't find anyone with this same issue. I have a 2012 tacoma with what looks and feels like a foam rubber seal that popping out of the lower right interior corner of my windshield. The seal is backed with adhesive that is now smeared on the window. and a little further down the seal there is foam attached to it between the trim and the glass (can't really get a pic).

I took it into the local dealership last week where they took pictures and i just got a phone call back today. They said their tech service guy responded back saying it was a well known problem (even though the local guys have never seen it) and that it is just a installation gasket to protect the window and has no purpose. Their solution is to have me bring it in so they can cut it out and clean up the adheisive. I have a feeling they might just not want to take the window out. Why would toyota leave something like that in if it didn't serve a purpose?

Anyone have this same problem or thoughts or suggestions to throw my way? I really don't want to "cut out" a piece of a brand new truck.

Here is some pics of the problem:

I don't have anything like this on my 2012 DC O/R.

Good luck - bring it back and make them fix it right.

That's the problem, this is the dealer i bought it from. I kept pointing it out that it didn't seem right on a brand new truck. and unfortunately it's the supervisor that's trying to convince me he'll just cut it off. Maybe I should go above the dealers heads a little higher. or call a differen't dealership.

It is not a problem, it is a feature.
Would you rather have a gasket that is permanently attached, or one that is removable?
This way, you can run with the gasket in, or out.
